Access is easy to spot on, but being right adjacent to traffic lights and narrow 2-lane road, it can be challenging when the parking is occupied. 3 cars parking and cycles at frontside.
Menu is wide open. Challenge your taste buds.
Ours were bruschetta, caprese salad with additional rucola, seafood soup, fettuccine Alfredo, pizza mushroom and cheese with beef chunks, lasagna au beef ragù.
We could have mentioned that first dishes should be out first rather than the main courses (pasta and pizza/lasagna) then the appetizer, though we ordered soup later.
Bruschetta, OK, but rather dry, with no decent basil leave within. I had to make balsamic vinegar olive oil to pair with.
Caprese salad, pesto is good. A bit more on plating would be better.
Pasta Alfredo- yumm. Seafood soup - lovely. You can taste hints of garlic at the beginning and then slowly coming to seafood flavour. Love it. Pizza -loving the neapolitan style always. Nice crust, burns and fillings.
Lasagna, i must to say. Quite disappointed. The portion is big but rather the layer of pasta is dominant than the beef ragù and bechamel. The layer of pasta is too much than the filling. We rather eat smaller portion but taste good rather filling our tummy with bigger layers.
Service is good. Overall taste is as expected as the one in Jakal. Just lasagana proportion need...
Read moreThere are many great restaurants in Yogyakarta but when it comes to pizza, Pizza aroma Italia is one of the best. Its pizza Hut has always pushed the boundaries. It is the first ever of that kind food order service, It's no surprise that we'd be among the best pizza restaurants in Yogyakarta. After visiting Yogyakarta Batik Museum, you can come to this restaurant because it is not far away from museum. Come here for good pasta, pizza and mushrooms if you are hungry. The cool staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. The fast service demonstrates a high level of quality at Pizza Aroma Italia. You will certainly like the enjoyable atmosphere and lovely decor. Expecting the taste of authentic Italian dishes, both pasta and pizza, was not fully achieved. Maybe there are some that have been adapted to the Jogja tongue (?). But so far this is the best effort. For seafood spaghetti, the taste is actually closer to Jogja godog noodles - it tastes like a lot of candlenut mixture (?). Spghetti Nero, the black one uses squid ink - the taste is not bad, especially served with crab meat mixed with cheese. Unfortunately, maybe it was cooked too hastily and served, so it still tastes a bit hard, like rice noodles that haven't been soaked in water for not long enough. The truffle pizza, very delicious. The salad...
Read moreThis is a tricky review to write! We booked a table to find there are two ’Aromas’ and we’d reserved at the wrong one for us. We contacted the restaurant on WhatsApp and they were very responsive and helpful and switched our booking. They also sent a copy of their menu in English, which was also super helpful. We enjoyed the welcome and the service was great. We ordered bruschetta to start followed by pizza calzone and melanzane parmigiana. The bruschetta was tasty and drizzled with olive oil. The pizza was delicious, perfectly cooked with a great crust and the right amount of filling for a good calzone. The problem was that the melanzane wasn’t heated through. It was warm on the edges but cold in the middle. We asked for it to be heated properly and it was taken away but when it came back it still wasn’t heated properly. Even though it’s a vegetarian meal we were concerned that improper cooking may cause a stomach upset so we cancelled the order and shared the pizza. I contacted the restaurant after we left. The owner apologised for the error and said that they would put better checks in place in the future. In all, I’d eat there again but stress to the team the importance of the food being hot when it...
