Sapulu Coffee — Restaurant in Yogyakarta

Disappointment doesn't begin to describe my recent experience at Sapulu Coffee. As a regular, I expected much better, but this visit was shockingly poor. Upon arrival, I tried ordering from the breakfast menu, only to be told everything was sold out. This was puzzling, as it wasn't even midday (around 9 am). Hoping to at least get a coffee, I was informed there would be a 40-minute wait. Why wasn't this mentioned when I first arrived? It felt like a complete waste of time. The staff's attitude was openly hostile towards local customers like myself, while foreign patrons seemed to receive preferential treatment (he queued before me). The blatant discrimination was both surprising and disheartening. Throughout my visit, the service was unpleasant and unprofessional. Eye-rolling and curt responses were the order of the day. It's sad to see a once-favorite spot decline so dramatically. Needless to say, I left without having anything, feeling frustrated and disrespected. Needing a great coffee and breakfast to start our day, we stumbled upon Sapulu Coffee, just a stone's throw from the Sultan's Palace in Yogyakarta. It's clearly a favorite among tourists, and after tasting the coffee, I can absolutely see why! Our breakfast was fresh and delicious.
