A one stop destination for family holiday. However most of the attraction is already in run down state. Really crowded in holiday season. Prepare to bring extra shirt as you will be sweat after spending 1-2 hours here. There are no all day pass ticket, each attraction need a single entry ticket. The rundown and price as per Desember 2017 as follow :
Gedung Oval Kotak : Adult 20k IDR, Child 3-5 year old) 12k
Bahari : Adult/Child 6k IDR
PAUD Barat/Timur child only up to 5 year old : 3k
Zona Lalu Lintas child only : 12k
Planetarium : Adult/Child 22k.
Gedung Oval Kotak (Oval Square Building) is a large building consists of many display related to science and natural history. Inside there are aquarium, jurassic/prehistoric diorama, physics tools/equipment, earthquake simulator, etc. It also has additional ride such as dino ride and 4D cinema with additional extra ticket/fee. We only took the dino ride and it costs 25k for adult, 20k for child.
Bahari is a ride where your kids can play a mini boat ride. The queue is ridicously long (prepare 45 minutes of average standing in the queue) for a mediocre ride. The price is only 6k so maybe that the reason people still queuing anyway.
PAUD is recommended for children under 5 year old. Parents are now allowed to go inside, but inside there are 4-5 staffs who will accompany the children. In our experience it the less crowded, the facilites are well managed and clean. There are comfortable waiting room equipped with CCTV so that parents can monitor the activities inside. The 2 bulding east and west have different characteristic. One is gymnastic, robotic, music also coloring. The other is building/lego, pretend play (pilot, fireman, sailor) and computer games.
Zona lalu lintas is a small car ride. Already run down. The ticket will allow your kids to do 3 laps of riding a small car in a very small track.
Planetarium is a show of Jogja Night Sky and educational show about the solar system and Sky Object. For this attraction you need to buy ticket specific for which time as the ticket will display the seat number. 1 show will took around 30 minutes.
Traffic is really bad to this place, especially on holiday season. It is also hard to find parking spot. Use public transport or ride hailing app is better and...
Read moreSome time ago, I visited a place in Yogyakarta called Taman Pintar, which is located not far from Malioboro Street. I would like to share my impressions of the experience.
I was very happy to visit Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. There are many attractions to try, such as the Oval-Box building, batik creation, pottery creation, and many more. The facilities provided are also complete. Including a clean prayer room for Muslims, several restrooms, and food stalls. The entrance fees for each attraction vary, but are generally affordable. Taman Pintar Yogyakarta is also suitable for family visits, as it offers attractions for both children and adults.
Although I was generally satisfied with my visit to Taman Pintar Yogyakarta, there were a few disappointments. Some of the games were broken and no longer functional.
Compared to other tourist destinations, I think Taman Pintar Yogyakarta has many attractions that are not only fun but also educational. Many of the exhibits include scientific explanations that visitors can learn from.
Taman Pintar Yogyakarta is an excellent place to visit with family or friends, as there are many attractions to try and the prices are affordable.
If you're a tourist visiting Yogyakarta, I highly recommend this place. It's not far from Malioboro Street and the prices are budget-friendly.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate Taman Pintar a 4. The place has many attractions, affordable entrance fees, and fairly...

Location 9/10 Located in the center of Yogyakarta city, the location is very easy to find and reach. Spacious parking area. Close to shopping centers, food courts and other popular tourist attractions like Malioboro.
Atmosphere 8/10 Even though I came on a weekday, this place was still busy with visitors. Outside the building there are many children's play rides. Inside the building is very comfortable and amazing, the place is spacious and filled with various educational rides for children. The rides are interactive and safe for children.
Facilities 7/10 The educational facilities here are well maintained, almost all the rides are functional and can be played. Many areas are accesible ♿, starting from the main gate, areas inside the building, elevator and the mosque. The entrance to second floor is wide enough for wheelchair and step free.
Service 7/10 All the staff here are friendly in serving visitors, but I feel like the number of staff is not enough for a place of this size.
Price 7/10 The entrance ticket price for the main areas (Oval Building) is quite cheap, there are several special rides that require you to pay another ticket and the price is still affordable. Overall the price is worth it with the experience...
