Silol Kopi & Eatery, despite its current popularity, is actually a fairly young establishment in the vibrant cafe scene of Yogyakarta. Its story began in March 2017, when construction started on what would become a beloved spot for coffee enthusiasts and casual hangouts. The official opening followed five months later, on December 16th, 2017.
The name "Silol" itself is an interesting twist. In Javanese "pokem", it actually means "confused". However, to make it more catchy and memorable, the owners opted for the slightly altered spelling. This playful choice reflects the cafe's atmosphere, which blends modern aesthetics with a touch of vintage charm.
Silol Kopi & Eatery quickly gained traction, not just for its inviting ambiance but also for its diverse menu. They take pride in their home-roasted coffee beans, offering a variety of blends and single-origin selections. Beyond the caffeine fix, visitors can indulge in traditional Indonesian fare, modern comfort food, and even international dishes.
The spacious interior, spread across two floors, caters to different preferences. The ground floor buzzes with activity, perfect for social gatherings and catching up with friends. The mezzanine level offers a quieter space for solo work or intimate conversations. Additionally, a rooftop area provides a breath of fresh air and panoramic city views.
In just a few years, Silol Kopi & Eatery has established itself as a go-to destination in Yogyakarta. It's not uncommon to find a mix of locals, tourists, and students filling the tables, drawn in by the delicious food, aromatic coffee, and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned coffee connoisseur or simply looking for a cozy spot to relax, Silol Kopi & Eatery promises a satisfying experience.
So, next time you're in Yogyakarta, be sure to add Silol Kopi & Eatery to your list. You might just find your new...
