CHEF'D — Restaurant in County Galway

Exquisite fusion of BBQ, traditional cuisine and new age twists...an explosion of flavor in every bite...

As an American 'foodie' living in Galway for over 6 years, Chef'd is a real treat. Not overly complex but far from typical, the mix is mostly southern USA inspired with modern twists. The surf and turf with ribeye and grilled Prawn over seasoned fries is topped with Chimichurri salsa...delish. The smash burger comes topped with bacon, cheese and bacon jam (wow). The southern fried chicken comes with REAL blue cheese dressing (homemade and beautifully bitter), the curly fries and pit beans are far from the ordinary and could accompany any meal. Our young kids licked the bones dry having had the honey wings starter as their meal.

Our party enjoyed their selections so much that bites were passed around the table...too tasty to keep for one's self. Most flavors would not be native to this area or Ireland in general, providing the opportunity to visit again and again without ever having to order the same dish twice.

I have never dined in, I always get take away as I live local so the atmosphere rating is not applicable but I have tried a fair few of the items on the menu now and have enjoyed most of it. The ribs were great, they were tender and slide off the bone. My daughter is made for the regular fries as they add a bit of pepper on top. The smash burger is up there with the best burgers I have had. Not something I could eat every day as it is massive but I wish I could because it is delicious. The staff are always sound when I call in. Definitely recommend...

This restaurant was recommended by our bnb host. I had the daily special of Asian salmon burger and hubby had lamb chops. The salmon was cooked perfectly- moist and flavoursome. The lamb chops were chargrilled and the flavour was also to die for. We were offered sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownie for dessert. We took one of each and shared.
