We booked for a birthday dinner and my mum called to enquire about the allergens as she is a coaelic and was told that almost all of the menu was adaptable for coaelics which was great to hear. Unfortunately this was not the case when we arrived, she could have 3 dishes and one being the burger, which she could not have the bun or the chips and the chips and the sweet potatoes fries contained traces of gluten. The phone call was misleading to say the least. The menu does not have any allergens listed which is something that could definitely be rectified easily to be made more accessible for any one with an allergy. The rest of us, who didn't have allergies, had lovely meals. The wine and cocktail were also lovely. We were sat at a table that was a bit of a squish, especially as myself and my dad got meals that were served on large chopping boards which took up most of the table which was supposed to be for 4 people. I would go back but maybe not with someone who is coaelic or anyone with an allergy. It was a pity as I heard fantastic reviews and it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat an evening! The food was incredible and the service was top notch and the cocktails are unmatched, I would highly recommend as honestly I couldn't find a fault in anything.
I had been wanting to try Daniel's since it opened and it genuinely didn't disappoint. When you first enter Daniel's you get a cosy atmosphere with its cool colour scheme and comfy chairs. I was actually quite shocked at how big it is. The kitchen is open so you can witness the food being prepared with a spread of fresh baked focaccia and brown bread ready to be sliced and served.
The menu is a selection of small plates that would suit any tapas fan and big plates that would satisfy even the fussy eaters.
You can tell the produce is locally sourced, fresh and in true Mayo fashion big enough portions to ensure you dont walk away hungry.
Price wise its probably on the spendy side for Ballina if you consider approx ā¬65 for a 3 course meal and an cocktail spendy plus it has the quality of a Michelin star restaurant.
If visiting Ballina or North Mayo this is one not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were seeing friends for a quick visit while home on hols & Ballina was a good meeting point for all. Not being familiar with the town we googled it, saw Daniel's & thought it looked nice so we'd give it a try. It was def worth our while checking it out. The food was excellent with no complaints from any of the five of us. Everything was served warm, plate presentation was lovely & the staff were very attentive so 10/10 all round for great service. It was so nice to be in Ireland & be served by locals. Some of us were Mayo natives & are delighted to have found a new place to eat in Ballina. The rest of us wish the owners & staff much success with their new business & look forward to checking it out next time we're in the area.
