Went to go in for lunch on a sunday, place was practically empty and the guy said there was no tables available and the next time was 5pm. I asked what are all those empty tables for and he said all reserved. Yeah right! Ill take my business elsewhere.
PS to the staff. Dont be ignorant to paying customers or you could end up closing down. Unless thats your goal, maybe the owners don't know it but they should watch who they hire.
update Reply to the owners reply to original review. No, to be honest i wasn't disappointed at all by your actions, i was actually relieved. See i wouldn't want to hand over my hard earned cash on a restaurant that doesn't treat all their potential customers correctly. By correctly i mean courteous, polite and the way paying customers deserve to be treated. I have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in Ireland and none turned me away at 2pm when empty. See thats the difference between a good restaurant and a bad one. The good ones know they need to make the customer happy. The bad ones, well we all know what happens there dont we! We ended up going to a lovely place just around the corner from you, lovely Mediterranean food, was busy but they were more than happy to accommodate us. Case in point: hardly anyome will book a mediocre restaurant for 2pm on a Sunday... start learning how to run a restaurant the right way. You guys seem to be suffering from a strange, insufferable, obnoxious and arrogant attitude where people need to book a time to eat in your basic restaurant when its empty. Tip: get rid of the arrogant attitude and take the business while its...
Read moreFantastic little restaurant. But don't go in a large group. So the idea is you order a few dishes and share, works well in a small group. So I ordered the meat balls, fantastic taste, but imagine a small bowl of 4-5 meat balls and a table of eight. One of the other members of our party ordered the prawns, that meant half a prawn each.
Fantastic food, prices, service just not in large groups, 2 or 4 people Max. Of course you can order 2 of every dish, hindsight. Oh... and they serve craft beers, some really great beers but extremely expensive. A really good night.
Second visit, a two person siting this time, was better than the first. Great food, great tastes and because of the smaller group you can over order very easily. but it can be an expensive treat. 3 Jack the lads craft beers comes out at 19.5, but I like them, just wouldn't have them all the time. Can't fault it, but it does work out pricey but at the same time good quality value.
NB: The wifey is still Dissapointed as it is "grossly over priced" maybe it depends on what you get, I liked all dishes I ordered, but agree it's an...
Read moreThe best meal out in many years...
We both started with the leak and potato soup, I followed with the sage and parsnip roulade, my partner had the braised featherblade of beef, for dessert I had the fig and date pudding, and my partner had the creme brulee.
I also had the non alcoholic raspberry sorbet cocktail (beautiful!).
We were basically left speechless. Every flavour was so well thought out, so vibrant. Every single part of the meal was excellent, such a high standard.
The quality of every ingredient was obvious, such wholesome, satisfying food.
Veggie options are often underwhelming, and poorly thought out - certainly not the case here.
The service was faultless, attentive, friendly and quick, despite the restaurant being busy.
This was our first visit, certainly won't be our last. It is at the higher end in regard to pricing, but for a sit down meal in a Chinese there isn't much in the difference in price - but a huge difference in quality.
Overall just...
