Olive Tree Restaurant & Cafe — Restaurant in County Mayo

To the Owner of Olive Tree; I visited your establishment yesterday with my son. As we approached, you saw us and immediately turned your back and went into the kitchen, leaving us waiting outside with no acknowledgment or welcome. It felt uncomfortable and uninviting, and we eventually had to leave.

In contrast, I visited several other Irish places in Castlebar and was met with warmth and exceptional hospitality. The difference was truly striking.

I want to remind you, Sir, that our visit was made out of respect for your business. Unfortunately, your response felt quite the opposite. No guest should be made to feel unwelcome — it's simply not the right way to treat visitors.

Amazing food! The Olive Tree is by far one of the best in middle-eastern cuisine in the region. I think I've only eaten so well in such an authentic place in the Middle East itself. The menu is varied and great, the host is very welcoming. Staff are very friendly and efficient. The food was just gorgeous. 6 stars! well done, we'll be back again and again. We stayed way past the closing time and the host was gracious enough not to even mention it or ask us to leave. Talk about western hospitality! This is west/east best....

The Olive Tree offers a 4 course vegan menu! We got the stuffed grape leaves and veggie pakora as starters and the vegan Döner platter and the North African roasted veggie and bean stew. They have a choice of couscous, white or brown rice. Both were very good and the portions are large! They also have vegan desserts.
