Hi I have been a total fan and customer of this Place- Street By Sunil since 5years and must have recommended it to so many people not only in the community but also to anyone if they had fancy a nice INDIAN meal with absolute authentic flavors.
But here comes a day (10/04) when I received an order which went completely wrong with no flavours and just over sweetened with loads of honey. Had it been a dine-in, I would have got a "replaced order" immediately, but because I live 40 mins drive from the restaurant, had to convey about the same over the phone and also mentioned that the food was not edible, except Dal makhni which tasted as good as always.
Yesterday when requesting over to get my previous two side dishes alongside my new order for a take away, Sunil absolutely minced his words and long story short he denied that there are no free meals!
He is certainly not running a subsidized community kitchen and his menu prices match fine dining restaurants in Dublin.
He mentioned he has a successful career in the restaurant business with 3-4 or even more restaurants, but he could not bear the burden of two side dishes along with a new order??
Rather than being sorry about his restaurateur mindset he became defensive about his approach on the call which he hung up on me and contacted my husband to portray his Gentleman's attitude of not speaking to a woman like that!! Now it makes me wonder how down he could go on for a honest feedback and what worst could he speak to me?? learnt as kids GUILTY MINDs Always CONSCIOUS!!
Sunil - just to mention ., I am adult enough to handle my calls and my feedback, only if you knew you were correct in your approach in the first place , this would never...
Read moreA Whirlwind of Spice at The Curry Carnival!
If you’re looking for an Indian restaurant that defies all expectations, look no further than The Curry Carnival—where your taste buds embark on the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime! This isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a full-on adventure for your senses, a wacky, spicy, and absolutely unforgettable experience.
From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with a burst of color, sound, and the intoxicating smell of spices wafting through the air. It’s like entering a Bollywood set, except you’re the star and your stomach’s in the lead role. The walls are covered with vibrant murals of curry pots, dancing naan, and Bollywood heroes who all seem to be winking at you as if they know the secret to perfect biryani.
The menu? Oh, don’t get me started. It’s like reading a love letter from every region of India—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a “mild masala” kind of person or someone who can handle a ghost pepper challenge. I ordered the “Biryani of Destiny”, a dish so powerful it practically levitated off the table. I’ve never felt so alive after a mouthful of rice in my life!
The waitstaff? It’s like they have a PhD in enthusiasm. Each server has a unique flair—one guy even did a dramatic dance move while serving me my mango lassi (which, by the way, was an absolute game changer). They’re all genuinely excited about food and their energy is contagious.
But don’t expect any quiet, formal dining here. The Curry Carnival is a lively, vibrant celebration of food, fun, and fiery flavors. If you leave without a smile on your face—and possibly a spicy napkin in your hand—did you even really eat there? 10/10, would dance...
Read moreOnly reason is it isn’t a family friendly restaurant for sit in. Food standard has gone a notch down since last time - but might have been just an issue that day. During the Covid times tried the restaurant - had a good conversation with Leena the owner - and have been coming often for takeaways.
Came last instance (first time) for sit in dining. My kids don’t eat Indian food much as they are born here and they only eat a burger from McD when they are out.Just a burger each and they love it and look forward to it to have it with us as and when we have our food. I asked my wife kids to order food while I grab the burger for them. While placing order -The manager told kids can’t have the burger. I told my wife to ask them if it’s a matter of spend- as u can see on the order we spend €100 for starters and mains between us and also for takeaway after. Still they refused.
To Cut it short - the kids cried a lot- as parents we couldn’t eat in front of our kids crying for food as they are also hungry. Leena tried to go beyond after the issue by getting chips for kids etc- but the whole experience turned out to be a sour one. We packed all the food and decided to takeaway and leave immediately.
I understand policies- but when you are in the service sector (specially food) and dealing with children’s requirement’s please be accommodative. If your main restaurant Pickle can accommodate and till date No restaurant has refused when it’s kids for my entire 15years in Dublin and being a...
