Indian Curry Club — Restaurant in Dublin

I have been a loyal customer of the Indian Curry Club for over six + years, frequently recommending this spot to friends and family. The restaurant, though basic in its setup and often empty, has always been a nice place for a quick bite to eat.

However, my recent experiences have led me to reevaluate my loyalty. The long-time staff member, who once added to the charm of the place, now exhibits a shockingly bad attitude. The restaurant has introduced a rigid and unfair rule that every person sitting at the table must order a main course. This inflexible policy disregards the loyal clientele that has supported the business over the years.

Just yesterday, I had a particularly disappointing experience. I brought a friend who had recently undergone stomach surgery and was not up for a main course. Despite her willingness to order several other items, we were told we could not sit in the restaurant unless she ordered a main dish. This treatment felt incredibly unjust, especially given our history with the establishment.

The staff member repeatedly refused to accommodate us, citing the owner’s rules, and even refused to contact the owner to discuss our situation. This unyielding stance is perplexing and disheartening. In times when many businesses are struggling for customers, it seems the Indian Curry Club feels they can afford to turn away regular patrons without a second thought. The bill would have easily amounted to around 100 euros, but clearly, the restaurant is not concerned about maintaining its loyal customer base. I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning. Avoid the place if you are really looking for Indian food. There are really good places that serve something near to authentic Indian food like Anandas, Badam, Pickle, Istanbel. As an Indian, I am really flabbergasted to the food that they serve in the name of India. And another let down was the staff. Laughing at counter when we had our starters and asked for the rest as takeaway as the place is really depressing and food is I don’t know what. I generally go to some restaurants even though when the food is not up to the mark, but if the staff has an attitude, then never getting back to place like this. We ordered a takeaway from their app directly. It told us our food would be with us in 50 mins. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, still no food. I checked the tracker on the app, only to see that my food had already been delivered!
