This was one of two pubs in the area we were staying. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was that of a typical pub but the food definitely fell short. The menu doesn't offer a lot of variety and the food we ordered lacked any flavour. We ended up abandoning ordering mains and just ate the starters.

The only saving grace was the live music was WONDERFUL. The musicians performing were very talented and definitely provided us with some entertainment on our last night in the area!

If you were going here for cheap eats and a drink, I'd say this is your place! If you are looking for a full dinner (and hoping for high quality) I'd maybe head further towards Dublin!

That said, I will highlight our waitress was lovely and very...

Attended a function at this public house over the weekend. We had to be out of the fuction area by 6 which was fine ,we went down to the bar area to order a drink only to be told that we wouldn't be served because we were part of the function party and no reason given ,all very ridiculous and when we tried to speak with the manager he was just rude and ignorant, happy to have our custom for functions but then get out ,I will be taking it further as it was an appalling act of bad customer service and a complete breach of customers rights ,descrmiation on a grand scale . My advice would be to steer clear of this place...

Came here for a family meal and had an awful experience. 4 people ordered wings and 3 of us ordered carvery. The wings came to the table after about 25 minutes however the carvery never came to the table after over an hour of waiting. Everyone who ordered wings had finished their food and the rest of us haven’t even received ours. We asked the staff several times and they just kept saying that it was just very busy. When we asked why did didn’t just bring all the food out together they said because the wing station and carvery station have no communication. We paid for the wings but left without even receiving...

I visited this lovely pub with some friends and we really enjoyed the place and the food. We loved the wings; we ordered the largest ones and the quantity exceeded our expectations (great, we had wings for breakfast, haha!). The cheesy fries were an excellent complement. The atmosphere was quite family-friendly and the waitress who served us was very kind. As an extra tip: we walked from the interior of the Memorial Garden and the walk was very nice, it made us hungry!

Well, I haven't been to many Irish pub yet. But this one is rather impressive: original beer barrel, beam ceiling, red bricks, beer garden, party maisonnete... warm and cosy, more importantly-- good food! A nice place to get yourself recharged after your walk in the park, or get your phone more juice too! The tribute to James Joyce can't be missed. I might dig up the Finnegan's Wake and revisit how J.J. drank in this pub and formulated his thoughts into that book.

Went to Mullingar House Pub as a group of four, and we had a great time. The drinks were solid, and the food was so good. We ordered the platter, and honestly, everything on it was delicious, perfect for sharing. Great spot for a chill evening with good food and drinks. Would definitely go back!
