VERY disappointed. Had high hopes for this place after seeing their Instagram, Facebook and google reviews. I’ve ate a lot of pizza in Dublin area, and this is way down the ladder which is really unfortunate! The garlic bread was inedible, sorry but it really was. No taste of anything, burnt in the middle center so much that it was black and snapped, then the outsides were terribly doughy. What ever method they are cooking their pizzas, the finish is very uneven and not consistent. Some of the pizza is thin, then some is terribly doughy and thick. The bases were so soggy, we got a diavola and marinara. The marinara was basically a big flat base of uncooked dough with tomato pizza sauce and Rosemary sprinkled on top, that was it. I didn’t eat any of the crusts on either pizza as they were inedible and had a burnt taste. The diavola had lovely toppings, but all toppings slid off the second you lifted a slice. Again, crusts were extremely doughy and uncooked. The garlic and Rosemary potatoes were the only nice thing about it all, they were delicious, but it isn’t hard to ask somewhere to prepare and season potatoes. If you are going to travel all the way for these pizzas, make sure you eat it in the car park when you get it, they are very undesirable the minute they start to get cold (which is very quick). Don’t think I will be back sadly, having tried 2 pizzas and a garlic bread none of them warranted more than 2 or 3 out of 10.

Had lunch here today as I stumbled across the place while driving past. It was a very popular spot which I discovered after receiving my order as there was a queue of cars lining up to place orders. Hardly surprising given the quality of the food and coffee. Simply outstanding. I had the Santa Baby (broke all my own rules having a christmas sandwich in November) in ciabata and it's one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The stuffing was incredible and so full of flavour. The ham and turkey were delicious and a nice amount of creamy brie and sweet cranberry sauce. The main event is the ciabata though. Too many places ignore the bread, but this place has it nailed. Cooked in their wood fired oven it was perfectly charred and delicious and complimented the filling so well. The coffee also deserves a special mention as it was very good too. Service was very friendly and I was only waiting a few mins to receive my order. I will definitely be back.

We grabbed a taxi from Dublin to come out here for their toasties and a pint from Strawberry Hall and it was absolutely worth a visit! The parking lot was full of cars in line so we knew it was the place to be! We shared a Santa Baby and a Chicken With Attitude toastie. It was the best food we had our entire trip! Like Christmas supper in a delightfully toasted sandwich! CWA had such a unique combination and the sauce really brought it all together! I heard great things about their pizza too but we didn’t have enough room in our stomachs! Other notes, if you travel there via taxi like us, you can walk up to the window and grab a buzzer so you don’t have to stand in line behind all the cars. Also if you are there before the pub opens, be warned there aren’t toilets!

A Cozy Winter Evening at The Goats Gruff Coffee Shop: A Comprehensive Review

It was a cold and frosty Thursday evening, the kind that makes you pull your coat tighter and quicken your pace against the biting winter air. Nestled in the picturesque Strawberry Beds, The Goats Gruff coffee van promised a respite from the chill—and it more than delivered.

The small, charming van sits by the River Liffey, its warm, golden glow beckoning passersby like a beacon. As I stepped to order, the atmosphere was immediately inviting: soft, ambient lighting around the van, the gentle hum of conversation, and the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

Service and Hospitality The staff at The Goats Gruff were a highlight of the evening. Warm and attentive without being overbearing, they greeted me with genuine smiles. Despite the cold, the car park was bustling with a mix of locals and visitors, yet the service was prompt, and the team exuded calm professionalism.

The Coffee and More I ordered a flat white, drawn in by its promise of velvety richness, and it didn’t disappoint. The first sip was like a hug in a cup—bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced. It was exactly what I needed to shake off the chill. The barista clearly knew their craft, as the latte art was picture-perfect, a small but appreciated detail.

Overall Experience The Goats Gruff coffee van is more than just a café; it’s a haven. Whether you’re a local seeking a quiet spot to unwind or a visitor exploring the scenic Strawberry Beds, this little gem is worth your time. Its combination of excellent coffee, inviting ambience, and genuine hospitality makes it a standout experience.

As I stepped back into the night, the warmth of The Goats Gruff lingered, both in my hands and in my heart. It was an evening to remember, proving that sometimes, the simplest pleasures—a great cup of coffee and a welcoming space—are all you need to turn a cold, dark evening into...

Booked tables for 20 people in the tented area.. Preordered 12 sandwiches from Goats Gruff... Arrived and checked in with the Goats Gruff. Got our tables and asked for teas and coffees but we were told we would have to queue with the cars! I said we would wait and have it with our sandwiches. We were told we still had to queue even though we had preordered the sandwiches. I thought this absolutely ridiculous. I was really embarrassed as I had organised this venue. We tried to get hot drinks in the pub and a very rude man slapped out 3 coffees and said "that's it" even though we ordered 1 coffee and 4 teas. No one would light the heaters in the tented area for us. The man in Goats Gruff eventually gave us 4 teas. It was such a pity. The sandwiches were a big hit. We would have preordered our hot drinks if necessary but we were not given this option. This business needs to sort this out. It was a shambles from that perspective. Unfortunately we...
