Racecourse Inn — Restaurant in Fingal

We booked this place for my grandmas funeral afters as it would have been one of her locals. One of the bar staff went out if her way to make sure the food for me was suitable as I have coeliac disease and the food was lovely, she was very good about it and very friendly to all of us.

HOWEVER, my parents and my aunt and uncle spent over 40 minutes trying to get a normal headed paper receipt to pay for the afters. Most of the bar staff were very unhelpful and they also wouldn't take credit or debit card as payment for the event, even though they were accepting card for drinks payment. The staff refused to give a printed receipt of cash payment on headed paper, so they wrote one out instead on a plain till roll piece of paper. This clearly indicates that they are fiddling their books and NOT recording all their bookings and payment intakes but pocketing the cash for themselves. My family were grieving and shouldn't have had to go through such a ridiculous ordeal to get a receipt that wasn't worth the piece of paper it was hand written on. Absolutely disgusting and I definitely won't be back at all if this is how they are dealing...

Decent enough venue , busy spot two function rooms available and main bar, food also available. My expierence last night 16 february 2019 was mixed .. adele tribute she was great ... the guy before her was awful and they coors light was horrid then no southern comfort so was not a drinking session for me ... when asked for a coffee they did not do coffee eithier ... so not somewhere I will be rushing back to for...

Yes it's my Local. But it's great to have somewhere so close that supplies us with good entertainment at the weekend, friendly staff, and a cracking full Irish breakfast for less than you would pay for the ingredients in a shop. They also serve a carvery on Sundays if you don't feel like cooking Sunday dinner and a set menu on Saturday. I have no complaints which is why I'm giving...
