Hi-way Bar & Social Hub (Our restaurant is currently closed) — Restaurant in Limerick

If I could give 0 stars I would, myself and my friends arrived around 4:30 on this Wednesday the 20th December 2023. The staff in the bar were great and we bought a significant amount of drinks and we felt very welcome from the start. We have visited numerous times before hand and each time I would rate 5 stars. But what was from a 5 star experience turned to a disgrace in a matter of minutes. A random gentleman came over and told us the table we had been sat on since we had arrived was reserved. We got no specific time for when the table was reserved for and we were told to move straight away. When we asked if we could stay because we were here for a significant amount of time we got our drinks taken off us and we’re told to leave because of our “attitude”. We gave no attitude whatsoever we just wanted to know why we had to vacate the table as there was no reserved sign and we had no idea it was reserved. We were watching the darts and the races and we’re very happy throughout until this happened. We had just started to watch the Liverpool match also but then we were told this specific table was reserved each Wednesday and we had to move. While this man left a bar tender came over and asked why we were giving attitude and I gave her the exact same reason and she said she was too busy to put a reserved sign on the table to say it was to be reserved for this table we were at it. There was other tables yes but with no view of the match we were watching which was quite frustrating seeing as we had been sat at this table for some time . Correct if I’m wrong but I don’t think it’s a lot of effort to put a reserved sign on a table to say it is reserved it takes the matter of a a few minutes maximum. If we had saw this sign we of course would have left but we felt very attacked when we were confronted by this so called “manager “to move. I’ll add as well we had drinks that were full/half full taken from us which we had paid good money for with pure disrespect. I hope ye can resolve this problem by easily putting reserved signs on the table cos ye have a great bar and we have had very good experiences in there in the past. I hope ye can understand my argument and I hope a real manager can reply instead of the so called lad we came across tonight. I hope he reads this and can understand out anger . Thank you for yer...

Potentially the worst food we ever had. KFC would have tasted better and we probably should have gone there in hind sight. We ordered a pizza, chicken strips, chicken goujons and chips, and a spaghetti bolognese. We waited about 20 minutes for our food to come. When it did arrive, the chips were hard and crunchy over cooked and impossible to enjoy let alone eat. My partner had the pizza which was only okay but it was bland. The chips he got with it were worse than the chips my daughter got. I had the bolognese which tasted like tomatoes and nothing else. When the chicken strips finally arrived they were not cooked properly and as for my child's chicken it was the only thing salvageable about the meal but nothing to rave about. We were hungry and that's why we ate it but no I would not recommend that lunch menu. Let alone the staff didn't so much as ask was everything okay. I have worked 7+ years in this industry and its so disappointing to spend money on a miserable experience. The environment is clean and the barman and new waitress were nice.
