Hook & Ladder — Restaurant in Limerick

First off the restaurant was having a busy day as the other breakfast place next door was closed so it was quite hectic, my wife and I decided to go out for breakfast this morning and we ended up here. We ended up standing around for a good 10 minutes which wasn’t too bad but when we were finally seated we ended up waiting at least 15 minutes to even be served for drinks, my wife ordered waffles which they didn’t have but they had pancakes, last time I checked it’s the same thing just shaped differently, the pancakes did not feel cooked in the middle because they were so dense, they were also “blueberry” pancakes, featuring a single blueberry plopped in the middle of the dense pancake. she also ordered a milkshake which they also didn’t have so she got a iced coffee which was just flat and quite tasteless. I order the full Irish with tomato instead of sausages which you would expect to be a plate full of food, but when it came out I thought I had mistakenly ordered the mini Irish breakfast because it was such a pathetic plate of food. the tomato was basically raw not grilled at all, the only bacon was a single rash which was depressing it was also missing the mushroom that it claimed to have with no reasoning for it not being there, otherwise it was a completely fine yet standerd quality with laughable portion sizes, overall quite the scam. I will be happy to now know to never go here or to another hook and...

We went in on Sunday for lunch. We were seated pretty quickly however we still had to wait 15 mins until we could actually order lunch..... Then when we ordered water we were brought 3 tiny glasses (like the hotel orange juice glasses) so i asked for a bottle. We were told there was a charge... So I specified tap water... Still chargeable as they filter it or something.

The waitress we had was the most miserable unhelpful waitress I've met in a long time. She didn't once smile and everything we asked for seemed like a huge chore.

After 30 mins we were still waiting on part of our order. I called over the waitress and asked about it. She came back to tell us what we had ordered was no longer on the menu. We asked why she took the order if it wasn't available or why she didn't let us know it wouldn't be coming. She just kept saying it was all gone.

The food was ok at best. Probably tasted worse than it was because of the awful atmosphere and service.

Horribly disappointed with our choice, really spoiled a lovely Sunday catch up. We left asap and went to Starbucks instead for desert. We will never be going back. Shame really I remember when the hook and Ladder was amazing.... those days are...

Was a disaster start to finish. There was a line out the door so me and my boyfriend thought it must be great food. We decided to try it. First of all someone skipped us in the que which usually I wouldn't blame the restaurant for but the waitress clearly saw and sat this woman down anyway.... They seemed extremely understaffed. I felt sorry for them as they seemed stressed... Then we got seated and not too long after, she asked our order. I asked if I could get a certain sandwich without the chicken to which the waitress rudley replied "no" without any explanation. So after a few seconds I asked why and she explained they pre made the sandwiches... Offered no alternative... So there was no vegetarian sandwich I just got the French onion soup (which was quite nice). Then we saw them making the sandwich that they gave to my boyfriend right in front of us?????
