Stir It Coffee — Restaurant in Municipal District of Cobh

We were a party of 3 an elderly lady and 2 adults

Simply the worst experience we have had. Sounds harsh but everything that would be good customer service was sadly lacking. We arrived and ordered 2 packaged premade sandwiches to be (heated) and sausage rolls A pot of tea for 1 +Large Americano for 2.

Simple order? with the cafe absolutely empty we sat surrounded by 6 tables loaded up with the remains of food. There were 3 staff serving 3 young girls.

After waiting 15/20minutes my partner decided to see the reason why nothing had been served.

In this time no tables were cleared or cleaned.We cleared our own to sit down!

Approaching the girls and asking was there a reason for the delay one girl said I didn't take the order as another chirped up with the same line I didn't take the order either. The girl who took the order had sat down within a few metres of us eating her own lunch.

My partner said I know it wasn't you both but the girl who was having lunch took the order. We had paid €29.00 for the few items. The girl eating lunch didn't join in the conversation as you would expect to say"im sorry my mistake" she just sat there oblivious with no intention of reacting. Nothing had been started in preparation one of the girls said "would you like us to get on with it now. "

After waiting so long 20 minutes at this stage we opted for a refund. I left a complaint with the XL Centra staff next door the two businesses are owned I believe by the one person I stand to be corrected

No phone number was available to contact manager/owner . We did get a call in regard to the complaint from the manager/owner it was explained to him what had occurred he was very blasé about the complaint saying he would look into it. It's 5 days tomorrow and no more contact was made.

He said we are open a year and no complaints. You won't get them if there is no number to complain to!! On the website nothing not even Contact Us?

I notice reviews on the website(only 5,) one of which complains about the pricing which I would agree is expensive for such an establishment. Hardly a ringing endorsement of your customer service etc. If more effort was put in to customer service there would be more reviews?

To conclude poor customer treatment and slow or no service and pricy though I don't mind paying for good service they should not be charging those prices with the poor quality and service of the...

I work down the road from stir it coffee in rockgrove. gave it a try the last few days, great coffee, friendly staff and manager. Even surprised to see they had gluten free Carrott cake which was delicious, so giod the guys in work were surprised when i said it was glutwn feee. You know they take the gluten free aspect seriously,when they cover the cake with a cloche and keep it away from non gluten free cakes/buns and use separate knives to cut it, and don't use that knife for cutting non gluten free stuff....

What a lovely little find on the Glountaune roadside walkway. Location can be busy but this business has captured a real need. If you fancy a nice café & want to avoid the hassle of Cork city & larger shopping centres, then take an hour out, divert to Glountaune, have coffee or lunch, take a walk further down the roadside walkway nearer the church to Glountaune village & sit on the benches at the park (near the Rising Tide lounge bar) and admire nature in...
