We just got married in May and had Lisdoo as our venue. We couldn’t be happier with how everything went! First, the manager Phillip was brilliant to work with, he was easygoing and professional from the start, and made us and our guests feel very welcome. You couldn’t ask for a nicer guy to work with and anyone who has planned a wedding knows you have a lot of contact with your venue prior to the event. All our expectations were met and then some. No request was too big nor too small for Phillip, he had all the contacts we needed ready for us, ie decorations, cars, even down to a celebrant, although we didn't choose to go down that route. He even ordered a specific type of beer that I liked.
Phillip and his crew took the stress out of the day, the planning leading up to it, came up with tips and ideas that we never would have thought of, such as our walking in music, he even allowed us to hire a bouncy castle and put it into a function room next door so that the children would be occupied. Anyone with young children attending any wedding would know it's stressful thinking how you'd keep them occupied for so long, as it can be a long day on them. The kids at our wedding had an absolute blast of a day, and were treated brilliantly by all of the staff throughout the day and night.
The function room itself left us in awe, it was decorated beautifully, and the table centerpieces stood out so much that all of our guests commented on them.
Anybody that has dined in the Lisdoo will know how renowned they are for their food, and our wedding day was no exception to their high standards of cuisine and service.
To top the whole day off, Phillip and crew personally drove some of our guests who had travelled from out of town, back to their hotels, and came back for us, the bride and groom, as taxis were running late.
We look forward to attending another function here again in the near future. If we were to rate Lisdoo out of 10 for our wedding, we would without hesitation give it 12, not only just for the day itself, but for the relaxing process of booking the wedding, right through to the...
Read moreWent to The Lisdoo Bar & Restaurant on Friday evening (Friday, 15th 2022) while in Dundalk and It is located on the outskirts of the town.
The food and drinks here are absolutely amazing and really was second to none. (My brother who attended a meal with me said it was honestly the nicest steak he ever had and it was cooked so well and tasty.)
I had the house beef burger and it was honestly devine!
They also served really nice drinks including very good pints of Guinness. (Guinness Zero option also available)
The staff were also so welcoming and friendly and efficient and couldn't fault them at all.
As you can see I have very high and I had an extremely good experience. Honestly, I was so impressed by my visit to The Lisdoo Bar & Restaurant and will definitely put it down as one of my top recommendations while getting food in Dundalk.
(They are also able to cater for events such as on site parties and family gatherings and have plenty of on-site parking which is very...
Read moreWe popped in to The Lisdoo on impulse as a treat and had a dreadful experience, in fact it ruined our entire evening. I made a simple request, steak & chips plain, no sauce, no side salad, no dressing, no garnish, just the meat on the plate and I'll return the plate, I couldn't have made it any clearer and they couldn't get that right. They brought out a steak that had mushrooms, onion rings, tomatoes and God knows what else on it. This may well be fine for most people who visit but when you don't eat that stuff because you don't like that stuff then that's nothing short of infuriating and frustrating. I returned the course and refused anything further. My wife & child had their meal and we left. We would not recommend The Lisdoo nor...
