IMC Cinema Dundalk — Local services in The Municipal District of Dundalk

It used to be a good cinema but in desperate need of TLC. Downstairs everything looked good but once you got to the stairs it was the complete opposite. The carpet was discoloured, upstairs looked run down and the toilets haven't changed since it was open. In the screen itself we couldn't have guessed when it was last cleaned as the seats were dirty that I had to sit on the edge of my seat and the floors were sticky in every row. I never thought I would have been back.

However last week there was a group of us looking to see Babylon and IMC were the only cinema showing it. After taking some convincing from the group and to avoid having to travel to Drogheda to see it I decided to give it one more chance. I'm glad I did. We were in the LUX screen and thankfully this screen seemed to have been recently renovated as the wood outside the screen on the wall wasn't painted yet. Inside it was clean, comfortable and I had a lot better experience than my previous trip. I hope the other screens have/will get a similar treatment.

Currently the cinema is more expensive than the Omniplex depending what you're getting which is ok if the screens were all more like this but not if they're in the state they were from my previous experience.

There were plenty of boxes upstairs so I hope the other screens and bathrooms get a similar update as they badly need it and I would like to have more trips here in the future.

Bringing back buying your ticket downstairs like the old days is a great idea. On the downside the idea of leaving people to navigate the stairs with food needs to be replaced. We took a Youth group with over 60 kids to IMC Dundalk last night. I was dealing with Niall over the phone and he was really friendly and honestly couldn’t be more helpful. When we arrived Martin was there to greet us and was so welcoming to all our kids. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough. The cinema room was spotless and all renovated and looked amazing. The new layout downstairs is excellent and the whole place looks so modern and relaxed. Had a very bad experience in this cinema a month or two ago. Have visited many times before with good experiences but this incident was very poor. I went to see a movie in screen 3 and had a foot surgery that day, had to keep my foot elevated and as there were no other people in the screening, I elevated my ankle to the seat infront (material seats not leather).
