Mulhall's Restaurant — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Portlaoise

Visited this cafe with my daughter yesterday while I was in the cue I noticed staff were under pressure with orders been taken but at the end of the service counter there was a guy counting money from a till this before 2pm the cue was getting longer, there was elderly gentleman waiting for someone to take his money his food was getting cold so he asked this guy to take his money and they guy said no to get one of the counter staff to take it as he was cashing out on this till he was standing at for nealy half hour the old man voices his dissatisfaction which he had a right tos poor management and poor business practices and customer service from a person in position of responsibility who failed basics of customers service which is customer always comes first and when it's busy as this establishment was yesterday then this guy should have rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in to help behind the counter to at least relieve pressure on other counter staff good management is when a leader leads and not just bark orders or leave work for everyone else to do he could have left tills till later in evening as doing them at later time would not have been difficult thing to do, i would have scored this 5 stars but after what i witnessed from behaviour of manager left me with no choice but to score it 3 stars let's hope by my next visit practices and customers service attitudes by management will have changed today one individual has let all his team down on a review score point it's a pity as other staff were absolutely fantastic and were apologetic for their managers lack of consideration to restaurant customers...

Thought I'd stop in for a quick bite at Mulhall's Restaurant (Portlaoise)...and I must say..the service those ladies gave was absolutely amazing and being a Friday..was packed especially with the older folk..(OAP) coming for their dinners..but nothing frazzled these staff members! They assisted..they told the older folk to take a seat and they'd bring their dinners to them..always a smile and going that extra mile!! I was really so impressed..( only downer was..the beef was very overcooked....a bit dry!!..but the rest was....oh me oh my...really really awesome!!).. I ordered a black forest cake for a birthday..but just looking at those desserts...so wish I could have had..but..( no cakes for diabetics!!) but I can look and smile and be satisfied..right?? Well done ladies at Mullhall's Restaurant for going that extra mile!! You all...

3rd day in getting take away lunch after they opened and have to say very disappointed..Staff not great specialy girl at the door.Because I don't have the vaccine( as I'm pregnant) she told me to stand outside at the lift with menu.Then she said I wasn't allowed to come in although I got a take away the day before.Then I was allowed to come in.Third day my mask was on my nose she told me to pull it up constantly at me..One day I paid for lunch 10e another day 12 something..When I did ask why she said that's not a small dinner( never got a small dinner anyways) basically I don't feel welcomed in this place at all..Lots of staff slow service not...
