Zaiqa Restaurant Tullamore — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Tullamore

As I have recently moved from Dublin, finding a restaurant that serves delicious food has been a challenge. However, I must commend Zaiqa for their exceptional taste. I had the pleasure of dining there last week and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered the tandoori chicken and the mutton karahi, both of which were accompanied by naan. Additionally, we ordered chicken nuggets and cheese naan for the children. The portions were generous, and the flavors were truly delectable. The tandoori chicken, in particular, consisted of three succulent chicken quarters. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Regrettably, my experience with Zaiqa's delivery service this weekend was not as positive. I had invited guests over and decided to order from Zaiqa based on my previous positive experience. However, I was disappointed to find that the portion sizes for the tandoori chicken were different compared to the dine-in experience. While the dine-in portion included three chicken quarters, the delivery portion only contained two quarters, despite the price remaining the same. Furthermore, the chicken nuggets were not cooked properly. I have shared pictures from both dine in and delivery.

To begin this review, I can save you time and suggest that if you want good Indian food in Tullamore, go to Shishir at the top of the town! Top staff, top service and always on point! We’ve eaten from Zaiqa a number of times now and unfortunately it is hit and miss, when it hits, it is exceptional, when it misses it is dire! It’s a shame you cannot tell which Zaiqa you will get on the day. Further to above, my final and what will be my last experience with Zaiqa occurred on a night out with friends, while the welcome from the waitress was great the wait for the food was atrocious. It was 90 minutes before I left, I heard it was 2 hours before the food arrived from the little few of my friends who actually stayed to eat. I would imagine you’d be quicker getting a flight to India! I suspect management prioritised maximising profit over customer satisfaction by overloading the kitchen with take-out orders. I recently tried this restaurant. I ordered several dishes for takeaway. While the food was impressively fresh, with the meat clearly cooked to order rather than frozen, the overall experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the wait time was longer than what I was told over the phone. Despite specifically requesting that all chillies be left out, the dishes were excessively spicy, making the meal unenjoyable for me and my family. Our mouths were burning, which greatly diminished our dining experience.
