The Riverside Cottage — Restaurant in Waterford

If I could give Riverside Cottage any more stars I most definetly would. As visitors from Belfast on our staycation in Waterford we stumbled across this wee gem of a pub / restuaraunt and we are so glad we did. From the wonderful welcome we got from a lovely gent called Pat to the lovely attentive staff we couldnt have asked for more but more we certainly got. The food was nothing short of fabulous. The cottage seafood chowder was the best I have ever had (and I've had some lovely chowders in the past). The steak which followed was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We enjoyed our meal so much that we immediately booked for the following night for our last evening meal in beautiful waterford. It was as fabulous as the previous night with the seafood chowder again for starter as I just couldnt resist, followed by a beautiful fresh pizza which was delicious. My partner had the hot spicy chicken wings and they also were a winner. We were so stuffed we couldnt manage a desert but from what we seen I know we wouldnt have been disapointed. Thankyou Pat and all the staff at Riverside Cottage for not only a beautiful meal but for a lovely memory to bring home with us. Hope to see you all...

Popped in here at lunchtime with a friend who recommended it because he had been here previously when 2 brothers owned it and he told me the food was 'spot on' and renowned for its delicious fresh and seasonal food. To be fair we only stopped by for a coffee and a sandwich. We were met by I presume the owner as he was opening the gate that led from the car park to the bar/restaurant area and pleasantly enough he said "go through, the girls will look after you". We went through and as no other customers were present we had choice of seats. A young waitress took our orders of coffee and sandwiches 'open smoked salmon, on homemade bread, lemond dill and cream cheese, lettuce and baby tomatoes'. I was extremely surprised how quick this was served up and after trying to eat it left me in no doubt that these had been left in the fridge overnight. The bread was like trying to cut cardboard, the lettuce was limp and soggy. The amount we left on the plate should have raised a concern when we asked for the bill, but no the plates were gathered up and we were not asked was everything ok? All very...

The Riverside cottage was recommended to my wife by a friend for lunch today and it was a great recommendation. Beautiful outdoor dining area and a very spacious bar and indoor dining area well laid out and decorated. My wife my sister in law and myself had a most delicious lunch of beef, lamb and salmon with fresh vegetables My beef was beautifully cooked placed over mashed potatoes with a red dew gravy . Both my wife and sister in law also enjoy their lamb and salmon We finished our meal with teas and a coffee. I must say; it had been years since we visited this restaurant as we do not be around this part of Waterford;but after today we will be back very soon. We would highly recommend The Riverside Cottage for a lunch, evening meal or a family celebration.
