Downtown Cafe — Restaurant in Douglas

First time going here. Have to say I wanted to love it, but I just thought it was mediocre experience. The waitress and chef were friendly and polite but were busy in deep discussion when we approached to order even though the cafe was empty. For me, some simple improvements.. the tables were sticky and very worn and the general feeling was it needed a revamp. I appreciate it may not be in the budget to give the interior an overhaul but I felt like the menus were not clean, the tables were in bad shape. The food was ok. Waffles were fine but artificial tasting sauce wasn’t great. Some improvements required please as this has great potential. The place needs curb appeal and for customers to feel they are in a loved and looked after cafe. Well got to say all other cafes closed at 3pm in Douglas so we decided to pop in here ,haven't been in for few months, but got to say brilliant food well done my burger & was so tasty plenty on it and reasonable.....My daughter had the kids meal which I got to say was a good price too & good the portion size.... Definitely recommend this restaurant and the menu as you'll definitely find something you'll love .staff working hard and lots in kitchen doing meals... Great venue with plenty of seating upstairs as well as the downstairs..... Décor good as has that...

First time coming here, and the staff were very attentive & helpful. I got a chicken burger which might be one of the best i've had in a long time! My partner got a waffle which was huge, it came with all the trimmings, really great quality for the price. The only thing I would say is that it does get quite busy & loud, and it isn't easy to sit downstairs as there isn't a lot of room between benches so you feel a bit trapped in & we kept getting knocked into my other customers.
