For years, Corsar used to be a fair institution: It used to provide competently cooked simple dishes of generous size for a sensible price. Furthermore, in the last couple of years it tried to avoid sharp price increase. Regrettably, however, this was achieved at a price: smaller dish size (e.g., the focaccia) and, much worse, lower ingredient quality. The "Buche" salad is a case in point: The famous (and expensive) goat cheese has been openly replaced with a (much cheaper) salted cow cheese, without changing the salad's name. The currently served "Haloumi"" salad is another, and graver, example of non-transparent dish degradation: Historically, it consisted of a seasoned mixed vegetable and leaves salad with crunchy and tasty coated and deep fried (expensive) Haloumi cheese cubes. Not any more: Whereas the salad's name has not been changed, now it contains no Haloumi cheese cubes! These have been tacitly and misleadingly replaced by much cheaper deep fried coated home-made fingers of soft white cheeses, identically shaped. Cheating on customers is not only morally, and perhaps also legally wrong; it is bad business policy. We are not ignorant and we don't like...
Read moreAugust 2023 There is ample free parking in a lot which is a five-minute walk away. The restaurant is also accessible directly from the marina. People on crutches, canes and walkers will have no problem, as we saw, but I do not recommend the toilet for anyone in a wheelchair. The toilet is shared by the other tenants of the building, so don't forget to ask the barman for a key. We ate outside on a hot, sunny day, and were in the shade the whole time. The breeze coming from the ocean was great, and we had a great view of the boats in the marina. The menu is extensive. There is a separate drinks menu, sushi menu, and cocktail menu. The waiters were wonderful. After tasting the food and looking at how it was presented, it is clear that a chef, rather than a mere cook, is involved. The food was all scrumptious, from the liver pate to the goose breast to the grilled fish. We were also served a thin loaf of bread with three kinds of dip, including fantastic red olives, and carafes of ice-cold water. The baked and the mashed potatoes were excellent. The restaurant is not kosher in any way. Everything was...

We arrived on 2/12/22 at the Friday restaurant at the marina in Ashdod. The truth is we didn't reserve a place in advance so we sat outside because we didn't want to wait for a place inside. We received the menu and it took a relatively long time until we were served. We decided to order wings and fries for the first time and for mains my wife ordered a sushi roll and a fried sushi sandwich, I decided to choose the 300 gram entrecote dish with the addition of dairy mashed potatoes. The starters arrived, the fries were lovely, the wings were really tasty, comforting and good, the portion was really big and enough for both of us. What we really liked about this restaurant is that they ask you whether to start preparing the main courses, which most restaurants don't care about at all. The mains arrived, the sushi portion was really large, tasty and you can see that the freshness spoke for itself in the dish, I hope it's always like this and it wasn't by chance that we fell on Yom Tov. The freshness in the restaurant is what buys people to come to the place, as for the fruits today we all know that they are frozen and after all we are in a seaside city so why should it be fresh! That's why I decided not to order seafood. The entrecote portion was good, arrived exactly as I ordered, the weight was good, the puree was tasty, something in the form of the entrecote made me raise an eyebrow, but okay. The price was really excellent for a couple and really there are no such prices in our country. Highly recommend to anyone who wants something a...
