!!! WARNING!!! Do yourself a favor and NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! You might find your PROPERTY DAMAGED next day.
You probably thought tipping was optional, especially if you already paid 12nis for delivery? It wasn’t free, wasn’t even 7nis like other places! Here it’s a 12nis shipping and tipping is apparently mandatory! It’s not that I never tip. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Never thought of it as “you have to or else…”.
The delivery guy came, I took the bag and said thanks. He asked “Do you have a tip?” – I said “No” – He asked “Why?” – I didn’t even know what to say really, last time someone asked me that when I was getting mugged few years back. Demanding money like this is not acceptable. I closed the door.
Next day my mailbox was dented, glass broken, covered with scratch marks and apartment number scratched off. Do I have proof? No. Just pictures of the aftermath. And I'm pretty positive I heard some noise from downstairs when he left. Coincidence? I’m assuming it’s not.
I called the delivery manager, she said she was sorry and they will sort this thing out and call me back to let me know how it’s been handled. It’s been a week and nobody called me back. Apparently, they don’t care other than saying “We’re very sorry!”. Ever heard an expression “the customer is always wrong?” (: The guy probably still works there, so either just give away your wallet at the doorstep, or make sure nobody knows where your mailbox is and where you parked your car! You know, in case you don’t tip enough or look at the guy wrong.
I don’t enjoy tipping out of fear for my property, and I’m totally not a fan of extortion either. And you should not feel obligated to pay someone else's salary.
I dare you not to tip and see what happens. There is a fine line between tipping and robbery. If you’re too scared not to tip when demanded – you should know that you are getting robbed.
On the food itself: The burger was dry but I liked the wings. But you should think twice before ordering food in general – is it worth it? Better cook your own food, you’ll save money and won’t have to deal with Israeli service, thus saving yourself a lot of headache. I’m leaving 1/5 rating because I got more than just food.
By the way, It says Philadelphia on the check. I would advise not ordering from them either...

I really love the food here, ate at the restaurant and everything was delicious, not to mention the best home fries in the country. Too bad I experienced the worst service ever the last time. A few weeks ago I visited the country and was excited to eat there again. This time I ordered for delivery by calling the number directly on their website. What a mistake. The person who took the delivery was very nice and I ordered a burger and home fries. Delivery was very slow, almost 90 minutes, when it arrived I noticed the bags said "Philadelphia" on them (another restaurant owned by them where the food is no where near as good). I asked the delivery guy if the food was from Dixie and he assured me it was and that he delivers for both. I took the food and by just by looking at the burger I knew something was wrong. I took a few bites and it was terrible. I then tried the home fries which never disappoint but they were very cold. With all the dairy cream that's used they taste horrible cold. People are allowed to make mistakes, I called the restaurant and spoke with the person who took my order, explained the situation and all he did was argue with me for over 15 minutes about how it's my fault I didn't mention I wanted food from Dixie. I explained that I simply dialed the number on their website and placed an order. I also mentioned how cold the fries were but he kept arguing and offered to do absolutely nothing in return. Their food is good but service is way more important, I will not...
Read moreFancy restaurant without the receipts: You enter a building that looks from the 80s, the entrance to the restaurant looks like the entrance to a cheap diner rather than to a plus tier restaurant. Anyhow, we were seated in a booth, the lights were brothel-dimmed and it was unpleasant to say the least. It was super hot throughout the experience, and the staff didn't really care for the a/c. The first approach from the staff was for the sole purpose of telling us that our table is timed (can you do this after taking the order?). Great, off to a great start. The waitress came to take our order: 250gr of fillet costs 200 ILS, which is almost double the price in other places. But of course they won't put THOSE prices on the menu: you should "ask the waiter" about all the "special" cuts, as if the beef changes its anatomy depending on the day of the week.
Okay. It's a special occasion. Let's suck it up. Let's get the 200 ILS dish.
The food came, and it was good. Not worth 200 ILS, but good. We'll give them that.
I finished eating, and naturally I want to wash my hands. I go to the bathroom and find that the pump of the hand soap doesn't work. So I open the lid to take some so I can wash my hands.
THE SOAP IS DILUTED!
A RESTAURANT THAT CHARGES PREMIUM PRICES DILUTES ITS SOAP AS IF IT'S A SHAWARMA PLACE! WOW. Do the cooks use the same restroom? If so, how do they wash their hands without soap? Makes you think.
There are plenty fancy restaurants that are actually worth the premium price. Or shawarma that would be a better experience.
This one is not...
