Sometimes, I despair when I see ridiculously negative reviews of a place that does what it intends to do well. This isn't trying to be a Michelin Star place - just a nice, honest café giving good food and drinks, without being too expensive, served by some very kind people. We found a very kind waitress - with good English (and we're both English teachers), being helpful and kind with the menu and everything else. There was a wait for our arancina (which was pretty good) and that started to cause us concern as we were waiting for our bus to Catania. Pessima accoglienza. Personale maleducato e scortese. Per ordinare 2 granite e 2 gelati abbiamo atteso mezz'ora e ogni volta che chiamavamo i camerieri ci veniva risposto che dovevamo aspettare il nostro turno ... Quando già tutti gli altri tavoli erano stati serviti... Per arrivare i gelati altri 20 Min circa: stessa risposta, dovevamo aspettare il nostro turno. Di solito per mettere un gelato in una brioche ci si sta 2 minuti... Alla cassa, al momento di pagare, ci hanno fatto problemi per pagare ognuna la nostra quota del conto. Mai sentito (ormai anche le pizzerie fanno tanti singoli scontrini facendo pagare le singole quote dei commensali ... Forse la realtà è che non volevano fare 4 scontrini..??). Per non parlare del fatto che, prima che pagasse l'ultima persona, il cassiere ci ha detto in modo spazientito che ancora mancava una quota. Vogliono insomma tanta pazienza dai clienti ma non sanno averla loro. Inoltre la mia amica, arrivata prima di noi tutte al bar, si è sentita richiamata in modo poco gentile per essersi seduta al tavolo (dopo avere visto che era quello da noi prenotato). Il personale è evidente che non conosca le parole chiave del servizio di bar e ristorazione: accoglienza e gentilezza! Signori miei, noi paghiamo per un servizio. Il MINIMO è trattare bene il cliente. E questo conta molto più che la granita al Cantalupo di ottima qualità. A mai più rivederci. Lo sconsiglierò a tutti. We’ve been to this café during out vacation, and it was hands down the absolute best ice cream that I have ever eaten in my life! I crave it every day and I will definitely go back next summer !
