Ristorante Osteria Dei Marinai — Restaurant in Aci Castello

I went last night with my husband and kids it was highly recommended well if I could give 0 stars I would . The waiter was rude and rushy didn’t really give me a chance to talk and ask question about the food we start with appetizers which they were good , I asked for linguine with Astice but he said they were out so he recommended another type of shellfish ( zoccola di mare) which was very expensive it took them Over an hour to make a plate of pasta , my husband order a second course which it come out before the first course ( the pasta ) when I told the waiter I was disappointed and we did not want to wait for the second course he just rush the second course out , the pasta was not as expected at all and cold , no cooked well and without salt and it was 40€ which is ridiculous for Sicily . My kids were complaining because we seat at 9:20 pm and we left at 11:30 pm I had to ask for to go boxes . I believe they took advantage of us because my husband and kids are Americans ( I’m Sicilian so I know how the food has to be prepare and the cost ) I did not want to make a scene but they knew I was very disappointed. Overall was a bad experience and I won’t go back if you are American stay away...

They turned us away with most of the restaurant empty early in the night at 7:50 pm. They said they were full for the rest of the night, period. Not only did the waiter turn us away, but he did so with a huge grin on his face and was so glad to tell us no. He was almost laughing. We were dressed nicely and spoke politely, and came a long way to have dinner here to treat our grandmother who lives in Sicily for a nice meal. Italian is not our first language, but we try. Later when we walked past we saw they had taken other guests as more tables were full. I read the other negative reviews, but we had had a good experience before when we came with our Italian family, so I ignored them.

Really dissapointed about the service and staff attitude. We were waiting more than 20 minutes for them to take our order after they gave us the menues but they pass by our table several times. We were 2 pleople sitting at a table of 4 because there were no others available but if the staff would be pleasant enough just to tell us that we can't sit there we would leave. They just argueing between them that we are 2 at table for 4 and we just figure out that they don't want to serve us. Sometimes just to say something in a nice manner can solve more. We left without eating...
