I feel I have to update my review from before as we gave this restaurant another go based on seeing many locals there. We had a lovely meal. My husband had veal and I ate vegetarian dishes. It was all delicious. We had half litre of really tasty red wine. Well done to the restaurants who do not make us decide between a small glass or a whole bottle! I spoke to one of the staff as we were leaving and apologised for my previous review and said I would correct it and I'm happy to do so.
I booked here for 8pm on a busy night in Italy June 2nd. Basically the place was in chaos. I don't know whether they hadn't enough staff on or what the problem was but all around people were unhappily 2 waiting for their food. Si può percepire l’impegno dall’accoglienza, al servizio, al piatto portato a tavola fino all’ultima portata. Il posto é molto rustico che dona quel tocco caloroso in più. Iniziato con un bel fritto misto, accompagnato da bruschette al pomodoro ed una focaccina. Avendo ordinato primi piatti e non pizza abbiamo avuto modo di apprezzare la qualità dell’impasto da una semplice focaccina; leggero e saporito. A seguire un bel piatto di Linguine alle Vongole e Spaghetti Tonno e Gamberi, mi sono rifatta gli occhi vedendo finalmente un Signor Piatto di Pasta, porzione come te la facessi a casa da solo ed è stata l’emozione più grande potermi gustare un piatto soddisfacente sia nella quantità che qualità. Data la panza piena, abbiamo approfittato della scelta di fichi freschi per concludere con qualcosa di dolce. La familiarità che senti in ogni forchettata è un’emozione che pochi sanno trasmettere. Sicuramente potrebbe migliorare se ci fosse la possibilità di assumere un po’ più di personale, ma ció che ha reso tutto più speciale è proprio sapere che dietro ad ogni dettaglio c’è una famiglia di pochi che suda per portare avanti il locale. A truly family-run business which is the key to experience hospitality in a different way. You can feel their commitment from welcoming customers, service, from the first to the last course. Rustic place which is the touch that makes you feel home. We started with a Fritto Misto (fried seafood) followed by tomato bruchetta and a focaccina (garlic bread). As we had main courses and not pizzas we had the chance to taste their dough from a simple focaccina, which is light and tasty. As main courses we had Linguine Alle Vongole (long pasta with clams) and Spaghetti Tonno e Gamberi (long pasta with tuna and prawns). What a great view receiving such a big portion like the one you’d make for yourself at home. It has been the most satisfying experience tasting a huge and tasty dish. As we were quite full we’ve ended our meal with fresh figs. Excellent option. You will experience the effort and passion each of the family member put behind each details. Of course improvement could be made if there would be a chance to hire more staff member, but even tough their few they work very hard accomplish their best. I've eaten here a few times and sometimes the service is not great. Don't misunderstand me, these are good people but sometimes things get a little out of control. Perhaps sometimes they are short-staffed. Most of the time, everything is terrific. Occasionally, less so. Nonetheless, I am giving them five stars because this is a wonderful place in which to eat true Neapolitan pizzas made by one of the best pizza chefs in the world.
