What a wonderful family run restaurant. We arrived to a full restaurant - almost couldn't get in the door - but we were welcomed in like an old friend until a table became available, with wine while we wait. All food is made in house with local ingredients, ingredients of extraordinary flavour. We started with a mix of local antipasti - meatballs, local cheese and salami, mini parmegiana, artichoke, sun-dried tomatoes etc all we're stunning. Then came the pasta. Sausage, mixed greens, pepperoncino, pangrittata. The simplicity belies the extraordinary depth of flavour. Instantly became the best pasta we have ever had. And created by the chef. Beautiful. The mains : pork belly in tomato and meatballs in tomato were perfect and even though we were stuffed by that point they brought a little tiramisu and digestif. Never felt so welcomed in a restaurant. Had a nice chat with them all after, being a chef myself and left on the rest of our journey more than satisfied....

Fantastically hospitable family run place. Food was classic Sicilian and absolutely fresh and delicious. We'll definately return to the restaurant and to the area. If you're tempted to think that the town of Aidone is a bit off the beaten path, the restaurant is 100m from the Archeological Museum of Morgantina, a jewel of museum that houses the artifacts from Morgantina, a huge Magna Grecia archeological site that is really a 'must visit'. Stunning views of Etna on the way are well worth the trip on their own. A beautiful lunch at Giuseppe Cali's Antichi Sapori Aidonesi was a lovely stop on the way...

Fantastic. Authentic. Delicious. Friendly. We found this small restaurant on our way to the museum & are so grateful that we pushed the door open. It can look dark & closed from the outside but it's very much open. Inside, it's light, cosy, super friendly & filled with incredible smells from the kitchen. It's family owned & run & the food is basically Zero Km, cooked using ancient recipes & bursting with flavour. We'd go back in a heart beat & totally recommend it. The perfect lunch &/or dinner spot whilst visiting Morgantina & the museum....

Very friendly place, small and intimate. We had the two pasta dishes and enjoyed them. But most importantly we got to know the people around us and ended up enjoying a glass of liqueur. Authentic in every sense of the word.
