Bistrot Melograno — Restaurant in Angera

We came with two kids and ordered two antipasti and four primi piatti as a light lunch. After we finished eating the starter we had to wait around 45min until the pasta arrived.

We were one of the first ones to enter the restaurant. Before we got our pasta at almost all the tables the main course was served already.

It was totally obvious that our order for the primi piatti got forgotten/lost.

This can happen, but when I told  the waiter that we waited extremely long his reaction was absolutely unacceptable. Instead of some words of excuse he reacted irritated with a "what is your problem" expression on his face.

Service failures like that can't happen during a light lunch with two glasses of wine and two kids for 180€.

Food was in general ok but overpriced.

I complained to the restaurant via email 6 weeks ago to give them a chance for an apology before writing this review and did not receive any answer. Hence, I guess this one star rating is...

A place no doubt have to visit again. A late wake up morning and late after 15:00 visits in Angera. Unexpected surprise wonderful experience. Nice welcome staff with professional wine and food suggestion. Even though late visit without second course options. But the paster and Gnocchi is much much more than brilliant. Especially the spicy one with anchovies is harmony ( too hungry to take pictures before finished 😆) And Tiramisu is the one worth to travel far away from to taste. Flash brew strong coffee with thick Mascarpone is die for choice. Can’t wait to taste their signature...

After the fifth visit, still our favorite restaurant in the Lago Maggiore area. Fantastic pasta dishes (which my friend who lived in Italy for four years declared the best she had ), melt-in-your-mouth meats, tiramisu to die for (I took mine back to the hotel so I could savor the experience over multiple nights) and of course wonderful service - friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Enthusiastic thumbs up! Already looking forward to...
