This place is really fantastic! The view is incredible. Be sure to get there while there is light - both to enjoy the view but also to get there safely. The road is very narrow indeed and twists and turns. But the place itself! Beautiful. Beware if you’re not that mobile.
Now for the food! Excellent. My wife and I shared their “Taste it all” antipasti which were delicious and with more variety than what you get almost everywhere else.

Read moreThe Osteria is located in the fertile valley of the Valnerina. The area of Umbrian delights. The venue is in a curated palazzo hewn from local rock. Small rooms with incredible views of Arrone and the river Nera - the lifeblood of the valley. The dishes are authentic local and seasonal. The meats, legumes and pastas all delicately prepared in the Umbrian way. My favourite, lamb chops “scottadito” (burn your fingers) because they are grilled over coals. The meals are deliberately not rushed to allow sufficient time to digest ahead of the next course! Slow food! Takes some adjustment when visiting from cities where restaurants force two-sittings on...

Rest of meal was amazing - steak was a standout as well as the Aubergine parmigiana. We were served by Sarah - English was great, went through the entire menu with us and was generally so helpful and friendly and therefore made the experience a very...
