Ristorante Il Paiolo - Bed and Breakfast — Restaurant in Barberino di Mugello

We found that this Locanda like an Oasis in a desert. We had car trouble around Barberino during scorching hot day and after hours of waiting, we're towed to a nearby garage, where nothing could be done and our insurance just left us hanging, so we googled for a place to stay that allowed pets (and teenage kids).

La Locanda di Paiolo was a blessing from heaven! Not only were the rooms absolutely beautiful but there was airco and a jacuzzi! It was also equipped with the essentials for a nice stay and a mini fridge. We loved it! The people are absolutely lovely and were so kind to help us the next day when we had to go to the garage and took care of our kids and dog. They made us feel super welcome, like family! I will always remember our stay very fondly thanks to the staff but particularly Julia and Don Paolo who were our saviours.

They also have a great restaurant that has a great reputation and people from everywhere go there for lunch and dinner. The food is amazing and delicious, the prices are accessible and service is great. So far, my favourite...

We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. While we did not order the dish he suggested, we chose the Florentine steak. The food itself was satisfactory, but unfortunately the billing process left a negative impression. In the rush, I did not check the receipt carefully at the time; later that evening I noticed we had been charged for a Chianina beaf instead of the Angus beef we had ordered, as well as for an additional bottle of water we did not receive. Although I acknowledge my own oversight in not reviewing the bill immediately, I would recommend that future guests double-check their receipts to avoid...

Non è la prima volta che vengo in questo ristorante, ma stavolta proprio è stata l’ultima. Ci sediamo io e il mio compagno alle 14:30 e per prima cosa il cameriere ci avvisa che non possiamo ordinare perché dobbiamo attendere (locale pieno) e fin qua capiamo l’esigenza e la difficoltà nel gestire un locale pieno. Anche se appunto: se non si è in grado di gestire le tavolate delle 14:30 si può tranquillamente ammettere e dichiarare locale al completo. Dopodiché ordiniamo un taglio di carne (filetto di limousine 1,5 kg al sangue), ci arriva dopo un’ora un altro taglio (angus costata 1 kg cottura media) dicendoci che è stato invertito con un altro tavolo. dopo un’ora di attesa alle 15:30 decidiamo di non rimandare indietro la comanda e di mangiare comunque quel taglio. Ma la cosa che ci fa allibire più di tutte è arrivati al conto in cassa: ci volevano fare pagare il taglio che abbiamo mangiato e non quello che abbiamo ordinato, nonostante l’errore sia stato esclusivamente loro e non nostro. Questo è inaccettabile. Errare è umano, ma non rendersi conto dei propri errori è diabolico. 120€ per 3 calici di vino, un taglio di carne e dell’acqua. Con un servizio del genere sono oro. Mi dispiace ma dopo oggi, non lo consiglio...
