Ristorante Pizzeria Le Vecchie Mura — Restaurant in Bari

I always love a humble and honest meal, comfy, unpretentious. Ristorante Pizzeria Le Vecchie Mura has to be my favorite restaurant in Bari, where you can experience the southern Italian’s hospitality in full swing. The food was great too, we had the hot and cold antipasti in our two visits, both were great, but the orchiette with prawns would be my top favorite dish here. The orchiette was cooked in the right texture, topped with the natural sweetness of the prawn. It’s Heaven! Of course the pizza was superb too, I can simply eat the charred crust just like that.

On our second visit, we learnt that the mussel was in season and they basically eat it fresh like how you eat your oyster. Then we faced a problem, we had difficulty opening the shells. The gentleman from next table saw it and came demonstrating how to peel open the fresh mussels from shells and other tables also interacted with us despite having the language barrier.

Highly recommended! We were a group of 10, all ordered pizza and pasta. The owner stepped in and offered to prepare local, typical food for everyone so we can try different things. We all agreed to that suggestion and it was the best! Awesome, amazing food, great and fast service! Everyone were very helpful and positive!
