Ristorante Pizzeria Griglieria da Monica — Restaurant in Bordighera

Let me start by saying that the food was quite good, and affordable. The portions were good, especially compared to the very small portions we got at other italian restaurants for the same price. Location wise they aren't the best placed in the city sadly, but the service makes up for all of this! The woman serving us was kind, smiling, attentive, she joked with us and made us feel right at home. When we arrived, we were kind of stressed because all the restaurants we initially were hoping to go to were fully booked, and we were worried that our last night out on this trip would be ruined. Beautiful restaurant, friendly waitress, undercooked meats. The daily special was pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe followed by roulades. The pasta tasted good but had slightly undercooked sausage. The roulades were also undercooked and filled with unseasoned julienned zucchini (see picture). This dish had virtually no taste whatsoever. To top it off, the most bitter (in every sense of the word) disappointment came towards the end : a huge espresso, very watery and bitter with a faint clove aroma. WTF?! Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo prenotato una sera durante il nostro soggiorno a Bordighera circa 10 giorni fa, attirati dalle recensioni positive. La prima cosa che voglio segnalare è la posizione dei tavoli: appena seduti abbiamo chiesto di poter essere spostati in un tavolo centrale, poichè ai lati, dove eravamo, arrivava l'aria condizionata addosso e la mia compagna ha problemi seri di salute. Alla nostra richiesta però ci è stato detto che erano occupati (comprensibile, nulla da dire) e le alette sono state sbloccate, lasciando che l'aria girasse (ovviamente arrivava comunque, seppur in minore quantità), comunque per tutto il tempo in cui siamo stati al ristorante, nessuno ha occupato quei posti, anzi si è presentata una famiglia di 3 persone che non avevano prenotato ai quali sono stati i famosi posti prenotati. La mia ragazza ordina un risotto ai frutti di mare, che arriva in meno di un quarto d'ora: il riso era scotto e il sapore era davvero povero, nonostante l'enorme quantità di pesce all'interno. Io ho ordinato una pizza ai porcini da menù, che però erano esauriti, mi hanno proposto una pizza coi funghi semplici che ho accettato. La pizza non era buonissima, soprattutto la mozzarella che risultava a blocchi, dura e non filante. Al momento del pagamento ho anche dovuto chiedere come mai nel conto il prezzo della mia pizza equivalesse quella dei porcini, pur non avendoli mangiati, mi è stato poi riconosciuto uno sconto dopo la mia osservazione.
