In short: Tasty grilled meats, great service, and a casual outdoor setting with some traffic noise. 🍖🍷🐾
🤷♂️ We had reserved an outdoor table and were seated on the far left side of the restaurant, likely because we had a dog with us 🐶. For us, the spot was quite nice and peaceful, but we noticed another couple refused the table behind us and chose to wait for one in the more central seating area. So keep in mind that the atmosphere can vary depending on where you’re seated.
🍽 Service throughout the evening was great. The waiters were friendly, attentive, and careful when clearing plates — the kind of small touches that make a good impression. Bringing us small plates for the bread would have made it perfect. (🧼 Main course plates had smudges and food residue on them — they could have been cleaned better.)
🍖🥓 We ordered two portions of the mixed grilled meats to share among five people, and they kindly brought us an extra plate without issue. I’d say one portion is enough for three people if each also orders a side dish. We went with mixed salad, steamed vegetables, and potatoes. 🥗🥔 The vegetables and potatoes were especially tasty — both had great texture and seasoning. The salad was fresh and fine, but I’d strongly recommend the vegetables.
🍖🥩 The quality of the meat varied a little between plates. One included a perfectly tender medium-well steak, while the other had a more well-done, slightly chewy cut. But overall, it was a solid meat selection and I’d gladly recommend it to others looking for a grilled meal.
🍷 To drink, we had the house red wine. It wasn’t really to my taste.
🍮 For dessert, we tried both the house dessert and the pistachio tiramisu. Both were good — I personally preferred the house dessert, while others liked the pistachio version better.
🛻 As for the setting, it’s charming in a rustic way, but do note it’s located right next to a narrow road. While it was kind of fun watching cars and small trucks squeeze through the tight tunnel, there were also several noisy scooters passing by, which made things a bit loud at times. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing.
All in all, Trattoria dal Sarsissa delivered a relaxed and enjoyable dinner with friendly service and satisfying food. 😋 Just be aware of seating placement and the occasional...
Read moreI went to Lake Garda for the first time with my 14y/o. Our main goal for this trip was to eat as much good pasta as possible- and thanks to Trattoria dal Sarsissa, we were able to excel in this department. We stayed in the cutest B&B right around the corner (also highly recommended: L'Ozio), so this Trattoria became our go-to from the first evening on.
My kid fell in love with the Fettuccine Al Ragu and kept ordering it every time (all pasta is homemade and just a dream in carbohydrates). I was more curious about the rest of the card and enjoyed everything I tried. All traditional cuisine, fresh, tasty. Special tip: don't skip dessert. Seriously.
As others said before: making a reservation (especially for the evening) is recommended to make sure you can sit outside and enjoy the beauty of this little place in the middle of this oh so pretty and less touristy town.
And finally to the staff: Thank you so much for being so welcoming, friendly and sweet and also for being surprisingly fast with everything, even on the busiest of hours. You made an already wonderful vacation just perfect.
So much love from Lasagna Girl and...
Read moreStepping into this restaurant feels like time-traveling straight into la dolce vita of the '60s and '70s. it’s as if the décor was handpicked by Fellini himself. The ambiance drips with nostalgia, and the lighting sets the mood to “relaxed Italian Sunday.” Now onto the food thankfully, it’s not stuck in the past. Each plate arrives like a warm hug from Nonna: hearty, flavorful, and refreshingly unpretentious. The sauces cling to the pasta with intention, the meats are lovingly seasoned, and even the tiramisu tastes like it’s been passed down through generations. You come here not for avant-garde plating or experimental foam, but for honest-to-goodness cooking that respects tradition. Final Thought: The place may look like it hasn't changed in decades, but when it comes to the food, that's a compliment. If you're craving timeless Italian with charm to spare, this...
