Lakeside Gem at Lake Garda
This restaurant offers a stunning dining experience right by the water, with breathtaking views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. The serene setting enhances the meal, making it a memorable visit.
Starters:
Mixed Fish of Lake Garda – A flavorful selection of six well-seasoned fish pieces, beautifully presented.
Hot Mussels in Tomato Sauce – A generous portion of blue sea mussels in a rich, creamy tomato sauce.
Burrata Cheese – Fresh and delicious, served with iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and sun-dried tomatoes, finished with balsamic vinegar.
Main Courses:
Veal Chop – A large portion with great flavor, though slightly overcooked.
Chef's Fish of Garda – Tasty but had more bones than expected.
Gnocchetti – Delicious, though more similar to traditional gnocchi in size and texture.
Desserts:
Hot Chocolate Cake – Rich and satisfying, though a lava-style center would have been even better.
Tiramisu – A bit too moist for my taste, but made with decaf coffee for a lighter evening option.
Soaked Biscuit with Waffles – Absolutely fantastic—easily a 10/10! I would return just for this dessert.
Accompanied by two coffees and two glasses of Moscato, the desserts made for a perfect ending.
Service: The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. A complimentary limoncello and a Moscato refill were a thoughtful touch.
Overall: With its stunning location, great service, and flavorful food, this restaurant is a must-visit at Lake Garda. Some dishes could be refined slightly, but overall, it’s an excellent dining experience. Highly...

If you look carefully through the pictures on the wall, the history of the owner will be revealed to you and you will be even more surprised. kids friendly place (high chairs and a huge box of Lego duplo are available). Read moreHighly recommended - great food and service!! We discovered this restaurant by pure chance when spending a holiday at a villa nearby. From the very first moment the warm welcome by the staff and the laid back and very lively and friendly atmosphere made us feel home. The food was great, too, so were the wines! Having a nice meal with a gorgeous lake view feeling most welcome - what could be better! We liked it so much that we kept coming back another two nights in a row till we had to go back to Munich. You do not always find such a warm cordial service in touristy places in Italy. Da Umberto is a real treasure and we will certainly come back again. Thank you Luca, Christian and everyone at Da Umberto who made our dining out in Castelleto so much fun, pleasure and joy!...
