When our tour guide suggested we book a cooking class with Angela, and also lodge at her bed and breakfast, Borgo Prima Luce, he promised that the beauty of the experience would make us cry. He did not lie. Borgo Prima Luce was one of the most special and memorable parts of our Sardinian trip.
I whole-heartedly recommend Angela and Francesco! They were welcoming and professional hosts, yet they also engaged us like we were a part of their circle of friends, and inviting us to join them at a barbeque/picnic, we spent a most magical afternoon on their beautiful family farm, feasting from an array of unbelievably sumptuous, fresh seafood and specially made Sardinian dishes. Although we didn't speak Italian (nor they English), with the help of Google translator and a few of the other guests who spoke both Italian and English, we had such a fun time!
Then there's Angela's cooking. Divine! Our breakfasts were like Christmas morning, but better. An array of superb and delicate pastries, followed by a round of savory, handmades dishes. And I haven't even gotten to my cooking class with Angela. Truly inspiring! Practical. Hands-on. Super fun! (Also, I'm so glad I videoed our cooking class, as it has proved to be an excellent reference source).
Borgo Prima Luce is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Beautiful, private, and peaceful, with immaculately clean and charming rooms (as well as a very romantic garden courtyard!). But of course, with any place you visit, what truly defines an experience is one that arises from the heart. Angela, Francesco, thank you for making our trip to Sardinia so special! With love,...
Read moreWhat an incredible experience. One of a kind. As other reviewers have said, from the moment we arrived, Angela and Francesco made us feel like part of their family. And that said, we could only communicate via google translate since we know no Italian. I don’t think we had even finished checking in, when Angela asked if we wanted to join them for a trip up into the mountains to forage for chestnuts! Of course we accepted their kind invitation and had a great afternoon. Something that never would have happened anywhere else. We also had dinner at the inn both nights- the first night a full dinner, lovingly and professionally made by Angela-a real Sardinian gigantic, delicious meal. Second night, we couldn’t eat that much so, really too late, we requested a cheese and charcuterie meal, which Angela and Francesco kindly and generously provided even though they had plans to go out that night. The room we stayed in had the balcony; a perfect place to nap, read or just enjoy the fresh air. It was super clean and quiet. The renovation that Francesco and Angela have done is fantastic. So well done. Quality all the way. I highly recommend staying there. AND don’t miss the pastry shop Oros de Domo! Angela’s daughter runs it. Pastries should...
Read moreWe arrived and from the first moment we have got the best hospitality we had in this all vacation. There is also an option for cooking class which was for us amazing. The treatment from the people: the woman Angela and the man Francesco was really like family. With great food and great people nothing more needed. Also the room was very big like suite and clean and was everything perfect in the atmosphere. If you didn’t plan to go there I can recommend to go because this is the real authentic Sardinia...
