Ristorante Il Portico — Restaurant in Cannobio

We saw the menu outside and decide to get in the restaurant to try the  mushrooms and gorgonzola risotto and my partner was tempted with the orange tagliatelli. Once the risotto arrived I was very upset to look at it, it looked like a liquid porridge throwed in a plain plait, there was neighter a pinch of parsley to try to give some live to this poor thing called risotto.  It was a gorgonzola mushrooms cream with overcooked rice inside, for "just" 15 euros...Altought the flavour was not bad it was totally disapointing if you wan to have a real italian risotto experience...The waiter asked what happened and took the plate back (not in a very good mood) to the kitchen and minuts after brought a new one (it's supposed) the second was a bit less liquid but still wasn't risotto and the rice was still overcooked. Tagliatelli pasta was ok, but i wouldn't say its a "orange tagliatelli pasta" if it wasn't wrote in the menu, almost with no orange flavor and we also tried to add some flavour with the slice of orange on the side and didn't work... Wir haben in diesem Lokal sehr gut gegessen zu "zivilisierten" Preisen und wurden sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Die Location bietet zudem einen traumhaften Blick auf den See und die lombardische Küste und lädt zu einem schönen Abendspaziergang entlang der Flaniermeile ein. Leider mussten wir immer wieder feststellen, wie sich vorbeilaufende Passanten immer wieder von der "kleinen" aber feinen Karte abschrecken ließen, darauf Pizza vermissten und meinen, dass eine große Speisekarte etwas über das Können und die Lust am Kochen des Küchenchefs aussagt. Erstens sind Fragen nach Pizza bei einem echten Ristorante, das nicht den Zusatz "Pizzeria" in seinem Namen trägt, eher peinlich, weil sie von völliger Unkenntnis der italienischen Gastronomie zeugen. Wenn Sie Ristorante, Trattoria oder Osteria (nur äußerst selten einzelne Pizzen) lesen, sollten Sie besser dort nicht vorbeigehen, wenn Sie Lust auf Pizza haben. Zweitens ist eine kleine Karte eher ein Indikator dessen, dass sehr frisch zubereitet wird, frische Zutaten verwendet werden und der Koch sein Handwerk dort sehr genau versteht. Die Frische und Qualität lässt sich bei Lokalen mit vielen Gerichten eher bezweifeln, als anders herum. Also ein dicker Daumen hoch für Il Portico in Cannobio von Eurem international erfahrenen Host...

Dato il periodo estivo e caldo, e temporali improvvisi non è da sottovalutra la posizione privlegiata di cui gode. Ovvero all'ombra ed al riparo, grazie ai portici; e con tavoli anche esterni. Si trova al centro del paese , e della vista lago magnifica , alle spalle di un ex convento magnifico, e chiesa attinente . Il cibo è squisito , chef di alto livello, cura dei dettagli dovuti alla grqnde esperienza del direttore. Servizio clienti eccellente, senza essere nè glaciali, nè invadenti, una sana via di mezzo. Assolutamente da non perdere, sopratutto i primi ed il pesce, ottimi i vini alla carta. Inoltre questo è un paese che vi sorprenderà per la sua bellezza, diviso nella parte bassa sul lago, e la parte alta , con vecchi edifici...
