Ristorante Il Filo d'Olio is an absolute gem on the shores of Lake Como, where every meal feels like a special occasion.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by the restaurant's elegant decor that perfectly reflects the charm of the surrounding area.
However, the true magic begins when you're seated by the window, where the breathtaking views of Lake Como unfold before your eyes. It’s a scene straight out of a postcard, and it sets the perfect stage for the dining experience that follows.
The food at Il Filo d'Olio is nothing short of delicious. The menu offers a delightful blend of traditional Italian dishes and inventive creations that highlight the freshest local ingredients. Every bite bursts with flavour, from the perfectly cooked pasta to the fresh seafood. The chefs clearly have a deep understanding of the local cuisine, and their passion shines through in every dish. Be sure to try their signature dishes, like the risotto with saffron and perch, a Lake Como classic that’s been elevated to new heights.
The restaurant catered for my son with his dietary requirements and were able to make the fish dish how he wanted it.
Their desserts are simply divine especially the berry panna cotta which lucky for me didn’t have meat gelatine so I could enjoy it on more than once.
The service at Il Filo d'Olio is exceptional and adds a layer of luxury to the dining experience. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, always on hand to offer recommendations or top up your glass of water. They move with a grace that makes you feel both welcomed and pampered, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is their top priority, which makes your time at the restaurant all the more enjoyable.
To fully appreciate what Il Filo d'Olio has to offer, I highly recommend reserving a table by the window.
The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and stunning views of Lake Como creates an unforgettable experience that lingers long after the meal is over.
Thank you for making me and my family welcome and we will be back when we...
Read moreCame last night to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. Positivs: beautiful view overlooking lake. Great service. Attentive and spoke English although I conversed in Italian. Food was of a very high quality. The beef tataki was perfect medium rare and so tender. We paid €122 and had 1 shared starter, 2 mains, 2 desserts, 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine and an "amaro" drink. So actually excellent value in my opinion. Negatives: only 1 and it's a personal one. We had made it quite clear that it was a special occasion for us and we're celebrating. It was mentioned on the reservation booking and we spoke about it on the night. I felt you could have offered a drink( limoncello etc) or a Little chocolate. I have dined at places ranging from a small family run Sicilian restaurant to the 5 star Dorchester in London. And when it's been a special occasion they have always done something extra to make it special. You didn't do that. All you had to say was " as you're celebrating Vi possiamo offrire..........". We are not after free food or drinks but it was the gesture that you lacked and unfortunately due to this we left a little bit disappointed. It's the difference between definitely coming back or thinking about...
Read moreSummary - Totally awesome food/surroundings/service/reasonably priced. If you visit Como/Moltrasio; Definitely visit here! We were staying in nearby Moltrasio and after reading many reviews, we chose Il Filo d'Olio and it was great!
The food: Fresh ingredients, simple and tasty menu. The prices are really reasonable.
The service: We arrived at the dinner rush, but the staff helpfully accommodated us without a booking and even moved us to the premium "lake view" seats when they became available! Attentive without being invasive and service was at a good pace, no rush - but no neck wrenching to find staff either.
The restaurant: On the upper floor of a traditional style building, next to a local hotel - lovely Lake view from all tables but the balcony tables were best in the house! Customers were a mix of local families enjoying dinner (Wednesday night) and vacationers from all over.
We will...
