We wanted to go to another restaurant but decided aginstvthe idea and landed here in La STEzionetta and was it luck! The restaurant is beside a Train Station, it’s small and the decoration is retro chic. The food is regional and seasonal. The owner was very knowledgeable about his wine and suggested to us a regional prosecco to go with the food we ordered. The beef tartar was one of the best we have eaten, minimum flavoring which enhances the fantastic quality of the beef, the meat melts in your mouth. Then we tried the gambas risotto with fresh porcini mushrooms and pasta with polio. Both tased so great, I would have ordered another portion of risotto! Main course my wife had fish and I had the Tagliata. Again the quality of the food was fantastic and the cook really knew what he was doing! The blues music in the back ground really completes the desert my wife had and the grappa I was drinking. It was a fantastic evening with great food and drinks in a very unique restaurant. Hope to go back...
Read moreI wanted this place to be good. However the food and my treatment were extremely disappointing. It's a nice location and decor but my food was inedible and I was fobbed off with excuses and expected to pay €13 for a bowl of stringy, chewy, inedible octopus, the owner having reluctantly conceded to reduce it from €18. Apparently, it was cooked in a special way and as it ought to be. I sent it back and was kept waiting, hearing nothing back from the kitchen until I asked again at the bar. I live in North Portugal and eat octopus regularly and know how it should be - not impossible to cut or chew. The staff then claimed that I had eaten everything before complaining which was untrue. If I'd been physically able to eat it, I wouldn't have had anything to complain about. This must rank among the worst Italian restaurant meal in many years of visiting...
