From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The aroma of fresh bread and simmering sauce filled the air, immediately whetting my appetite. The decor is simple but lovely, with bright white walls and beautiful honey wood.

The menu features a variety of delicious Sicilian dishes, but we couldn't resist ordering several of their amazing pizzas. The crusts are thick with a perfect balance of crispness and softness. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted and gooey. The toppings are fresh and abundant, creating a harmonious blend of flavors in every bite.

We also tried their homemade pasta dishes. Cooked perfectly, the sauce was delectable. The portion size left me feeling full and satisfied.

The service was impeccable. Our servers were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and Antonio is the most amazingly warm and lovely person as well as a fabulous chef.

Overall, my experience at La Duchessa was exceptional. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. If you are visiting Sicily, and can find your way to Castellamare del Golfo, I highly recommend going to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

First off the lady taking my order was rude and very disrespectful. Super stuck up snobs for no reason. Next we get our pizzas and Croquettes. Pizzas are not crispy and limp and wet. No flavor at all in the pizza dough or sauce. Too much cheese and soggy pizza gross. I can't believe they went to school for this. No wood fired oven. If it was there I could not smell it or taste it in the pizza. Next the Croquettes tasted sweet and eggy and soggy not crispy at all and bland. Never will go back again. Had to throw it away because I almost barfed. Waaaay overpriced! $30 for 2 small pizzas and Croquettes. Rip off. Very disappointing!!!!! Did not take photos cuz it's in the trash now. Esperienza negativa.

Sono stato a cena con la mia ragazza e abbiamo ordinato due piatti di pasta e una pizza. La prima pasta erano busiate con gamberi e pesto di pistacchi mentre la seconda erano busiate con gamberi e polpa di granchio. Entrambe le paste erano veramente poco condite e asciutte (2 gamberi ciascuno) e presentavano inoltre gamberetti surgelati (cosa non menzionata nel menù). La pasta con pesto e gamberi non conteneva neanche pesto, ma era con granella di pistacchio allungata con acqua di cottura e olio. Dopo l'esperienza negativa della pasta, abbiamo deciso di dividerci una biancaneve con prosciutto cotto. Ho fatto notare alla proprietaria quanto la pizza fosse piena di olio (abbiamo usato più di 10 tovaglioli per toglierlo). La proprietaria ha visto che eravamo contrariati e sosteneva che fosse la mozzarella a perdere liquido e che non fosse dunque olio nonostante le avessi fatto notare il piatto stracolmo di olio e tutti i tovaglioli inzuppati dello stesso. Non hanno neanche chiesto se la volessimo rifatta o comunque non ci hanno neanche applicato uno sconto, l'ho trovato davvero di cattivo gusto. Inoltre, non ci è stato offerto neanche un amaro o un digestivo (cosa che avevo letto che facevano in altre recensioni). Ho fatto notare questo fatto della pizza anche al cameriere che si è girato dall'altra parte. Lo stesso cameriere, non è stato in grado neanche di presentarmi verbalmente il piatto di pasta che avrei voluto prendere, poco professionale. La pasta con pesto e gamberi è costata 15 euro, mentre quella con gamberi e polpa di granchio 12 euro. La pizza invece è costata 6,50 euro.
