We ate at Lungomare on our last night of family holiday and had a great experience.
The welcome at 21:30 was very friendly. We had no trouble getting a table. The owner seemed happy to see us and wished us a nice evening and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The menu was interesting and varied. We ordered no starters but were each served a small pizza fritta which was a new experience for me, and just the right size of appetizer I needed. Just before our mains they brought a cover of four different breads, each clearly made in house and each suite different.
For mains, we had one Margherita pizza, one Marinara pizza, and two pastas. One was Pelusiello pasta with Porcini Mushrooms and Black Truffle. I had the Mezzi Paccheri Fish Ragù, with Datterini Tomatoes, Pine Nuts and Fennel.
Pizzas were excellent, with a generous airy crust with excellent colouring and light charring. Toppings were high quality and delicious.
The pastas were lovely. My fish ragu was rather exceptionally nice. The Ragu itself was full of a deep umami flavour from excellent stock, the fennel coming through as a lovely aromatic complement to the fish flavours. It was utterly delicious as a main.
We paired this food with a DOCG white from Cantine di Marzo that was very nicely balanced to stand against the assured savoury tastes from our plates.
All the food seemed excellent value for money, and was enjoyed in elegant but relaxed...
Read moreWhile looking for a high-quality seafood restaurant for lunch, we ended up at Lungomare. At first, we were a bit hesitant – the outdoor seating was empty, and only a few tables were occupied inside (to be fair - it was a 3pm lunch). But any doubts quickly faded after we were warmly welcomed by the head waiter, who spoke excellent English.
He kindly guided us through the Italian menu and shared some personal recommendations – all of which turned out to be spot on. We started with a warm frutti di mare salad to share between the three of us – perfectly cooked seafood, beautifully balanced flavors. Each of our pasta dishes was handmade, with sauces that were rich, well-composed, and deeply flavorful. The Prosecco was of high quality and served at the perfect temperature.
A small mishap – a splash of sauce on my husband’s white shirt – was handled with grace and good humor. The staff immediately brought a stain remover and showed genuine care and kindness.
For us, Lungomare was a true culinary highlight in Castellammare – and we only wish we had discovered it earlier in our stay. We would have happily returned...
Read moreA fantastic restaurant that truly deserves top marks! I highly recommend visiting and ordering the pasta – it’s absolutely exceptional. The presentation of the fresh fish was also a highlight, beautifully done by our waiter Taras (or Thomas), who helped organize a truly memorable evening.
According to a GPT chat recommendation, this is one of the best restaurants in the area, and I wholeheartedly agree. Special praise goes to the talented Chef Vincenzo Vaccaro – a native of Gragnano – whose expertise in pasta and dedication to high-quality ingredients shine through in every dish.
Located right on the seafront (Corso Garibaldi 142), Lungomare Restaurant offers not just stunning sea views, but a culinary experience rooted in strong, simple cooking, exceptional dry pasta, and perfectly fried seafood.
