I would have given more stars because the food was not bad. However, if I could give zero stars because of the service, I would. I have been coming to Italy for 20+ years and this is the worst service I have gotten in that country.
You wait forever, even for the menu. You wait forever for the food. Forever for anything. My young daughter asked for a cup to put her iced tea and we had to ask 4 different waiters before getting the cup. Then halfway through my food, I find a piece of something in my pasta (nerano pasta, no pecorino)… which looked like foil …. Whatever it was it looked sketchy so I returned my plate. Although the waiter apologized, they tried to send me cheesecake to “make things better”…however, I am lactose intolerant. The right thing to do would have been to ask me if I’d like desert and then offer me a choice, instead of bringing me something I can’t eat at all. My daughter took two bites of it out of politeness but that’s all.
I was surprised when I got the bill and they still charged me for the pasta. When speaking to a manager/owner about this (nobody spoke English, I had some lady translating for me), I got yelled at and told I was offered cheesecake because of the issue… smh. When I told her I was allergic/intolerant, she rudely told me that I ordered the nerano pasta which has cheese….not knowing I had ordered it without cheese. Not only did I get disrespected, but she also assumed I lied. Terrible
There are dozens of other restaurants in the area, don’t waste your time and avoid this place. They do not care about customer...
Read moreWe were three couples touring the Campania region after a stint in Toscana and Liguria regions during the mid to end of last October 2018. We dined at this place twice and very unfortunately had only bad experiences. Although not my normal type of food, once in Naples, the first time I took a pizza. It was awful! Being that I did not rely on my judgment of the place, pizza not being one of my favourites and in spite of the fact that two of us already ranked the place as a disaster, we tried a second time some 5 days later. This time I noticed they had "Tonno" on the menu. Being Maltese and relishing such a dish (but also well aware that the Tuna season had long since passed in the mediterranean), I challenged the waiter if it really was fresh. After I was given his guarantee we agreed on the cut and the way I liked it cooked. The result I was served with was a total mess! Instead of having the thick portion agreed upon and cooked "Blue" on a high flame, I was given an anaemic thin slice of something that was more akin to the sole of a running shoe. After I complained, I was once again passed on a slightly thicker slice but once again overcooked and anaemic. The fish resembled swordfish and taste was a disgrace as were the potatoes and the service. In spite of the position being very nice on the Lungomare, I would recommend those who enjoy eating to steer clear of this place as the food is offensive and the staff incompetent and/or deceptive to...
Read moreI’m no food critic or expert but having lived in the area for couple years, I do recognize good Italian dishes. I am basing this review on our frequent visits, about 4X a year, to Castellammare di Stabia.
Good sunset location, nice wines; perhaps cocktails. This is tourist location when other restaurants are unavailable due to capacity; given this quaint & appealing town
The food was just like any other restaurant, simple; perhaps local food but nothing stood (or popped) out from the menu (as a must have); that any other restaurant along the lungomare or just a couple of streets away from this area.
The seafood came as what would be a frozen dish served hot and but not a fresh catch of the day or week; while there are a few restaurants in the area that offer local fresh fish or seafood, at very similar prices.
Pizza was crisp but with a burnt bottom & if you’re expecting a ‘good’ Neapolitan pizza from here, try another establishment. The service was good but that was because it was a weekday & not tourist season, as of yet. Didn’t see/hear any locals here, noticed many foreigners; which would describe this restaurant as a tourist destination.
One last item; they do have outside & inside tables available. Unaware if they take reservations; didn’t seem...
