Hidden Gem. My dad and I ate at the restaurant this evening. Instead of planning for dinner, we just wandered around downtown and stumbled into Locanda Cervino. I'm glad we did. We did not have a reservation (this is recommended) but they graciously sat us anyway. Some people have complained on Google Review that they were given a hard time coming in without a reservation and noticed that there was no one in the room when they sat down. This is not unusual in Italy. Reservations are usually recommended because many people will go out to eat 8pm or later. We were there at 7:45pm without a reservation and when we sat, the place was almost empty. However, by the time 8:05pm rolled around, every table in the back was filled. Just to keep people aware.
My dad ordered the Fungi Risotto. He is ITALIAN (like, authentic came over to the US in his 20s, so he appreciates good Italian cooking). He said his risotto was one of the best he tasted! I had the margarita pizza (I know...I'm the barbaric American ordering Pizza, but I wasn't in the mood for something heavier). The pizza was great. Definitely enough for one and maybe 2 people. The crust was light and the pizza delicious! I also had dessert - Tiramisu (a go-to favorite). It was homemade and delicious! I topped it off with Caffe Macchiato (trying to go the italian way of drinking coffee). That was well done and delicious as well.
The atmosphere of the place was great. It was clear that both locals and tourists eat here. When ducking into the restaurant, the quick take is to think there are just a few tables up front - but the rest of the restaurant is in the back. Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant located right next to our accommodation, and it was a truly delightful experience. Despite not having a prior reservation, we were seated without any issues. The service was exceptional—our waiter, a young man, was consistently professional, cheerful, and quick. He was always on hand whenever we needed anything, and the gentleman at the bar was just as attentive and helpful.
As for the food, everything we tried was fantastic. My father ordered the cod, which he said was excellent. We also enjoyed pasta with hare ragù—a truly unique and flavorful dish, as the richness of hare is entirely different from rabbit. The ravioli with game meat was equally delicious. On another day, I ordered a pizza to take away—it was ready in less than five minutes and tasted very good.
The interior of the restaurant was a perfect reflection of the region, with a charming and fitting atmosphere that added to the overall experience.

Read morePer motivi famigliari oggi a pranzo ci siamo fermati alla locanda Cervino.....Non abbiamo la prenotazione ma non importa ci fanno salire al piano rialzato.Il locale è arredato in stile montanaro bello pulito e accogliente come pure puliti sono i servizi.Ci propongono il menù del giorno ma preferiamo il munù alla carta.Siamo in 4 adulti e un bambino mio marito prende il risotto ai funghi buonissimo mio genero prende i gnocchi al blu d'aosta molto buoni io e mia figlia prendiamo i canelloni alla valdostana (fatti con pasta delle lasagne besciamella formaggio priosciutto cotto pomodoro e in uscita il grana) mio nipote l'hamburgher,Arrivano i canelloni alla valdostani caldi in mezzo freddi ai bordi mi ha dato l'impressione che fossero congelati e messi poi nel microonde per scaldare comunque pessimi il pomodoro era molto rappreso la besciamella era tutta nel canellone e di prosciutto cotto forse c'era l'ombra. ma il bello arriva con la frutta la ragazza ci dice che la macedonia è finita e c'è solo l'ananas,,,,,,,,,,,poco dopo sentiamo la ragazza che dice al tavolo vicino che come frutta c'è la macedonia e l'ananas.........scendo a pagare e chiedo spiegazioni .....mi viene detto che la macedonia è stata fatta solo per i clienti che vanno tutti i mezzogiorni lì a pranzo..........rimango basita se sei una trattoria o ristorante e hai 20 coperti fai 20 macedonie in un ristorante non ci devono essere clienti di serie A o serie B mi spiace per questa mia nota negativa tra le altre cose avevamo ordinato a fine pasto una grappa......forse stanno ancora adesso pigiando l'uva......torno a ripetere mi spiace per questa nota negativa visto le recensioni positive....molto probabilmente al mezzogiorno c'è un trattamento e alla sera visto che gli uffici sono chiusi prestano più attenzioni ai clienti.Non...
