Ristorante La Sgura — Restaurant in Chioggia

Excellent location, friendly staff and decent food. Unfortunately, despite looking curated and not as rustic as other (great) trattorias in the area, it lacks a point of view on their menu and dishes. We ordered two seafood gnocchi and they felt like the ones you buy at big chain grocery stores: hard and tasteless. The sauce was made not with local seafood but with clearly imported options (local mussels are definitely smaller and tastier). Overall it was bland as if it was whipped together last minute vs something that had its time to simmer gently and become delicious. We added a grigliata which was ok but nothing remarkable or surprising and served a bit cold.

Absolutely no reason for me to come back. 60 completely avoidable euros for two gnocchi, and one grigliata to share. Felt pretentious, curated yet expected in the atmosphere and service and totally lacking from the food standpoint. Tourist trap. You're basically paying for a high end restaurant facade and none of the good stuff that usually...

Ristorante di pesce ma la Domenica non tutto il menû è disponibile senza che però sia specificato… ad esempio gli spaghetti allo scoglio dicono che li fanno solo su prenotazione. Peccato che sul menû non sia proprio indicato da nessuna parte, altrimenti avendo prenotato 5 giorni prima li avremmo ordinati.

Altro problema, siccome alcuni nella tavola volevano solo antipasti, altri primi ed altri secondi, è stato chiesto di avere il un secondo portato insieme agli antipasti cosi da mangiare insieme…Ma niente, purtroppo è stato detto che non era possible, pazienza, sembrerebbe un problema di poco conto…. Peccato però chi aveva solo un secondo gli è toccato attendere ben un’ora e 20 prima di poter mangiare qualcosa e a quel punto era però ormai sazio di pane e gli era toccato elemosinare il sugo avanzato dalle capesante degli antipasti degli altri.

Sinceramente non comprendo questa risposta, il risultato alla fine è stato che dal momento dell’ordine dopo 40 minuti è arrivato l’atipasto crudo e capesante

Dopo 80 minuti dall’ordine sono arrivati i primi ( così chi non aveva preso gli antipasti… la maggior parte del tavolo è morto di fame essendo ormai le 2 del pomeriggio…a circa un’ora di attesa venne chiesto ripetutamente notizie dei piatti ai camerieri e udiamo dalla cucina le lamentele “ ma non usiamo piatti precotti !!!!!! “

Ora, colleghi… essendo anche noi proprietari di un ristorante da 150 coperti di pesce con il 100% dei piatti preparati da 0 al momento, prima di sporgere una lamentela verso un collega ci pensiamo 10 volte… ma non venitemi a prendere in giro che per delle pappardelle ci vogliono 80 minuti perché la cucina è espressa… forse servirebbe qualche consulenza su come gestire la cucina.

Il posto è buono, avevamo già precedentemente messo una recensione al massimo, spero che quest’altra venga presa in maniera...

Recommended by a good friend who is from Chioggia herself. We were lucky enough to have her order the Seafood dishes for us. This is Adriatic Seafood, Venetian Style . Put away your prejudices, and expectations, and previous seafood experiences elsewhere. Just enjoy the simplicity of Venetian style cooking that does not mask the freshness of the daily catch from the lagoon. Prices aren't cheap and so if money isn't an issue, then go all out and enjoy. I would recommend the softshell crab, the scallops and the crabmeat salad amongst other dishes. The house Prosecco is...
