Il Melograno Collecchio — Restaurant in Collecchio

I walked into the restaurant busy on a call and was gladly showed a place to sit down......menu on the table while I continue my conversation. At the end the waited approached me with the formalities..... ordered a beer and pizza. A couple of minutes later the beer and a receipt with 20H17 stamped on it on my table (Thumbs up for the chain of events up to now).......by 20H55 the beer was finished with no pizza on my table, but plenty passing me towards other tables.......and those people arrived after me. The place was quite busy and tables with big crowds got 'preference'. Went to the front desk to pay for the beer and en quire about the food......miraculously the pizza came out the oven, at that exact moment. They realized the delay after they notice the time printed on the kitchen receipt. I was offered a take-away instead.....(If I wanted take-away I would have ordered it that way!)

An apology for the delay would have gone down way-way better than a pizza out a box!! (It would have been no star.....but I had to select at least one in...

First when i arrived noticed botle of chocolate toping metro chef near dessert fridge. So i see where they buy their products. Pizza was mediocre quality. Caned mashroom on it and low quality pre packed and sliced parmigiana ham that is pressed and all slices are the same becouse machine made it like this so this is not real smoked ham but imitation. As a chef with 18 years experience who worked with and know many professionals in this business i can see what is food cost and quality. Prices are medium not cheap not to expensive. Stuff was good but noone asked any time is everything good its seems Italians dont do that becouse in 5 days noone asked me. In many other countries including Croatia where im from waiter will always ask you when you start after few bites is everything good and also after you finish and waiter clean up plates always will ask is everything good, atmosphere was best part becouse everything seems clean and new and place is big so everyone can be...

I had a great time, we were in 4 at this restaurant, first and second course, with dessert too. We had fish risotto and one of us had spaghetti alle vongole all yum yum, 2nd course our favourite mixed fried fish was top, nice and fresh and crispy wasn't greasy very clean and dry from oil, desserts were great too. Service was very fast and efficient.Waitresses and waiters are definitely on their feet there. Little time to talk cos it's a mega busy please. Very clean and busy and they all know what they our doing at il melograno, All 4 of us loved it, coming from Varsi would recommend this place instead of going to a far place to eat fish eg: the beach which is mega kilometres...
