The pizza was really good, but we almost get scammed on “house wine”.
In Italian I asked whether they have “vino della casa”. They confirmed.
A moment later the waiter came and asked if “Sforzato” was okay as house wine. Automatically I responded “yes”, knowing that I asked for a house wine.
A moment later I recalled that Sforzato was an expensive local wine. Confused I saw the waiter bringing a bottle of sforzato, which was different than house wine…
I checked the menu and Sforzato was the most expensive bottle (60 €), while “vino della casa” normally is a rather cheap option.
In the last second I reacted and managed to stop them from opening that bottle, went for an Inferno for 35€ instead.
I must say the waiter counted on the fact that we wouldn’t notice. They also continuously assumed we didn’t speak Italian.
