We first visited this place in 2022 when we were in Salò for our summer holidays. And we really liked it, so we decided to come back again when we returned for our holiday this year. We were glad we did! Food is excellent! Especially the selected local cheeses are *chef’s kiss* and the tagliata di manzo, and ribeye are excellent. The pasta carbonara and the duck ragout are also very very good. Dont forget to get the tiramisu at the end thats so good and gives a little dramatic effect. There is no outside terrace but honestly we didn’t mind. You can have dinner on terraces on over Salò and not eat as well as here. We ended up coming twice during our Salò stay. So thank you so much for 2 amazing dinners and we look forward on coming again!

In einer Seitenstraße unweit vom Hafen, man kann es fast übersehen. Es ist wirklich ein tolles Lokal. Das Essen war fantastisch auch die Weinempfehlung war hervorragend. Es gibt traditionelle mediterrane Gerichte auf Sterneniveau präsentiert. Zum Beispiel auch geschmorte Kaninchenkeule in Tomaten-Knoblauchsugo sehr fein abgeschmeckt. Diese Küche bekommt nicht überall und eher selten. Die Portionen sind nicht sehr groß, aber absolut ausreichend. Wenn man eine der leckeren Antipasti und oder einen ersten Gang als primi nimmt und dann eine Hauptspeise, kommt man gut zurecht und ist auch satt. Es gibt eine unglaubliche Auswahl an excellenten Weinen 😃. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung - nicht abgehoben sondern jeden Cent wert. Auch der Service ist perfekt und der Chef Mauro kommt auch zu den Gästen. Für Abendessen sollte man sicherheitshalber reservieren. Für alle, die in Salò verweilen und gerne wirklich gut essen, ein absolutes Muss! Wir kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir in Salò sind.

Our worst dinner in Garda lake. Absolute tourist trap with a pretentious of fine dining in reality pale dishes with double price tag. We had a pasta with cheese, where for 25eur you receive exactly 10 piece of pasta with sauce from supermarket and also lamb chops which was very boring cooked and meat was very smelly. The manager was rude and unfriendly.

Amazing service, beautiful looking and tasting feast, fresh wine and a private, intimate setting! We had a ten minute wait and were seated just at the door. You should book if you are a larger table! We opted for the 5 course tasting menus of the chefs choice @ €42 each.. we also added two glasses of paired wine (totally worth it)! The food was delicious.. we actually ended up getting 7 courses.. in addition to the 5 courses we got a mini pizza appetiser with smoked ricotta and basil on it before and a little selection of after dinner treats including an amazing light mint panacotta! Amazing! Our first course was lightly fried fish from the lake with a clean pesto.. then a buttery white fish and mashed potatoes and veg dish.. we both stopped talking and enjoyed! We were full by now and then had two meat dishes.. can’t even explain how nice they were.. a duck and ricotta pasta dish and then rare lamb chops with truffle! Amazing! Dessert was by far the best, their own take on a tiramisu.. yellow, vanillay custard with a sponge.. then a half egg cup of chocolate on top.. they poured steaming coffee from mini espresso pot thing through the chocolate melting it and then soaking the sponge.. it was understated, they didn’t make a big song and dance about it but very impressive and a little flair is always nice at dinner! Highly recommend.....

Ci sono scelte che sembrano casuali, dettate magari da un’intuizione, da una fotografia ben scattata, da un dettaglio che vibra appena sotto la superficie. Così è stato per noi con l’Osteria di Mezzo. Nessuna recensione letta, nessun passaparola. Solo uno scatto, uno di quelli che non si limitano a mostrare un piatto, ma che raccontano. Perché, se si sa guardare oltre l’immagine, si può quasi percepire il profumo del sugo che sobbolle, il calore del pane appena sfornato, la cura dietro un taglio netto o una guarnizione apparentemente semplice.

E così abbiamo scelto. E così, da Torino, ci siamo messi in viaggio con una meta in testa e la sensazione che lì, in quell’osteria, ci fosse qualcosa di speciale. Mai decisione fu più felice.

L’Osteria di Mezzo non è solo un ristorante: è un’esperienza che coinvolge tutti i sensi. L’accoglienza è calda, spontanea ma professionale, come se chi ti riceve sapesse perfettamente che sei lì per vivere qualcosa che non dimenticherai. Il servizio è attento ma mai invadente, guidato da sorrisi sinceri e suggerimenti che sembrano letti nel pensiero. Ogni piatto viene raccontato con passione, con quel rispetto per la materia prima e la tradizione che solo chi ama profondamente il proprio mestiere sa trasmettere.

Il cibo? Una sinfonia. Ogni portata è pensata per stupire senza ostentare, per appagare senza appesantire. Ingredienti di stagione, lavorati con maestria e rispetto, presentati con eleganza ma senza perdere l’anima rustica e autentica dell’osteria. Si percepisce la mano sicura dello chef, la volontà di raccontare un territorio, un’idea, un ricordo, attraverso ogni sapore. I piatti si susseguono come capitoli di un romanzo che non vuoi finire, ognuno più coinvolgente del precedente.

E poi c’è la cantina. Una selezione ampia, curata, sorprendente. Vini che sanno accompagnare, valorizzare, a volte perfino sfidare il piatto. In un momento di ispirazione – o forse di fiducia totale nel luogo – ho deciso di lasciarmi consigliare un Rebo della cantina Samuele Casella: una scelta perfetta, intensa e armonica, che ha saputo sostenere ogni portata con carattere e finezza. Non un semplice accompagnamento, ma una presenza viva nel racconto della cena.

È raro trovare un luogo che riesca a combinare così bene autenticità, qualità, professionalità e passione. L’Osteria di Mezzo è quel luogo. Ed è anche la conferma che, a volte, basta saper leggere tra le righe – o tra i pixel di una foto – per intuire un’esperienza che vale il viaggio.

Siamo partiti da Torino seguendo un’immagine. Torniamo con un ricordo prezioso, un sapore che resta, e la certezza...
