Salo is such a lovely town and by far the nicest we went to around Lake Garda. Unlike some other towns, the main coastal road does not go through the middle of it, so it is more peaceful and clean and the wide pedestrianised promenade is just lovely with pretty views across the bay.||The hotel sits right on the promenade with the good restaurant having seating inside and outside on the promenade and is also close to where ferrys can take you to other towns around Lake Garda.||We had a suite with Balcony and Lake view – a duplex room with a good sized living area, a balcony and then the upstairs ensuite bedroom – when you lay down in bed you have great view across the bay which is particularly nice to wake up to. Our bedrooms entry and living area was on the third floor and the bedroom on the fourth floor with an internal staircase (of course) so there was no noise from the restaurant and it had good views from the balcony.||Cristina provided an excellent buffet breakfast that you could eat outside with a lovely view across the bay. Though on the pedestrianised promenade, it was deserted, very peaceful and so delightful for our 8am breakfast.||We really enjoyed staying here and the hotel team were so very welcoming and helpful despite our...
Read moreThank you to everyone at Locanda del Benaco for your charm, your care and hospitality and for making us so welcome. We loved your small and friendly hotel with its interesting and architectural interior, first floor room 104 having a little balcony overlooking the lake was small but we'd book exactly the same next time for that lake view in the sunshine, only the promenade between us and the boats. Close to the ferry for easy trips all round Lake Garda. Christina, with her beautiful smile, overseeing delightful, tasty and carefully prepared food, a delight to eat each meal outside, Emanuela organising the desk and the breakfast - loved the cappuccino! - efficient, helpful and welcoming, Alan smiling and helpful with the menu, Rafaele such a fun expert on lovely Italian wines - enjoyed every minute of the wine lessons! - and meeting Federico too before we left - a special family with special staff taking such good care of all their guests. We appreciated every minute...
Read moreThe hotel is located in a perfect location on lake Garda; the best part is that it is a family owned hotel and the hospitality is excellent! But what sets it apart is the Food!! The Food is just impeccable, we had the best lamb ribs ever, so tender and flavourful, the antipasti polpo is outstanding (so juicy and tender) and their pastas are amazing! Not to forget the massive selection of wines. We had an amazing and peaceful stay, all the staff are friendly and breakfast is great! The only thing we didn’t like was the ac in the room which was set and locked by the hotel at 26 degrees in summer, it did make the stay abit uncomfortable and we never understood why can’t we change the ac temperature. In summer it goes down to 19 degrees at night so the room was stuffy and was definitely was not the highlight of our stay. You need to definitely book in advance if you are not staying here because it does get quiet full around lunch and...
