Ristorante PelataMatta — Restaurant in Cosenza

I stopped here for lunch randomly as I was in the area and needed lunch.

The chef and his wife run this restaurant and they were SO nice! They make their own bread and breadsticks (grissini).

I ordered the podolica steak (local breed) with the red wine (magliocco) reduction. I normally have my steaks rare, but the chef recommended medium given the sauce and he was absolutely right. It was still super tender and delicious.

The veggies and potatoes were good as well. And yes I got white wine, it’s July!!

Finally, I topped it all off with their watermelon sorbet (icyyy and tasty!)

I took half of the meal home since I was satiated. I just finished the leftovers and the steak was still tender after reheating it in the convection oven.

All I can say is outstanding. The hospitality was amazing. The food was all that and more . A great place to eat , relax ,and enjoy the flavors of fine wine . The owner and our server couldn’t have done a better job . You won’t be disappointed. We were visiting from the states and this restaurant caught our Curiosity and we were not disappointed. Der Inhaber, welcher auch die Gäste bedient, hat uns herzlich willkommen, wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und hygienisch. Zudem ist das Restaurant sehr kinderfreundlich. Die professionelle und aufmerksame Gastfreundschaft hat uns begeistert. Wir kommen wieder! 10/10 Questo ristorante ha superato tutte le nostre aspettative! Il menu chiaro parla di cibo fresco e di stagione. Il cibo era eccellente e abbiamo assaporato ogni boccone. Il proprietario, che serve anche gli ospiti, ci ha fatto sentire molto benvenuti e ci siamo subito sentiti a casa. Il ristorante è molto pulito e igienico.
