La Baia Restaurant — Restaurant in Cremia

I want to warn future tourists to stay away from this place. We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday in this restaurant. We booked a place a month in advance. We came in a great mood, which was completely ruined. First, the manager in a dirty shirt without a badge wanted to seat us under some pipe, without a view of the lake, although we asked for a good place a month in advance. Then, three minutes later!!! after ordering, the waiter brought us dishes, among which was something we did not order at all. When we said that this was not our order, they began to bring us some more people who confirmed the waiter's words, but were not present when we ordered. After we asked to bring the ordered dishes, they told us that they could bring them, but we would have to pay for both dishes!!! By the way, I will say that we chose the most expensive dishes from the menu. But this was not enough, they decided to sell us what we did not order. As for the quality of the dishes - it was terrible. The fried seafood mix tasted burnt, the pasta was overcooked and very salty, the meat - for 50 euros, like grass. And what kind of taste can there be in dishes that were heated up and brought 3 minutes after ordering?

When we asked them to remake our dish or replace it with something else, they simply took our dishes away and brought nothing in return. And instead, the chef came and spent a long time proving that it was all delicious))) We said: "No, it's impossible to eat!" He: "No, it's delicious!" And so on in a circle ten times. When we were outraged by what happened, they told us not to speak RUSSIAN here at all!!! And if we are not satisfied with the food in Italy (literally), we should go to our own country and eat there. And when we said that we were from Israel, the manager started demanding documents from us, shouting and insulting!

And nothing helped. Even the policeman who was sitting at the next table immediately took their side. We have never seen such a terrible service in any country in the world!!! No compensation, no respect for customers, absolutely wild uncivilized behavior of the staff. Russophobia and, apparently, anti-Semitism And this is taking into account the fact that we did not come to eat pizza, but expected to leave at least 300-400 euros for three in this restaurant! In general, a scam, humiliation of a foreign client, deception.

I do not understand where so many positive reviews about this place come from.. But if you respect yourself, at least a little, if you value your time and nerves, stay away from this place! In the Como area there are many decent places that can be recommended with a clear conscience

P.S. These people did not just ruin our holiday, they really brought me to tears. I am sure that in response to this post they will continue to lie. Don't believe a word they say. You don't have to believe me, just remember my words before you go here and read other negative reviews about how they have already deceived...

The good: Location is very nice, directly by the lake. Very spatious and generally good athmosphere.

The bad: We were not pleased with the food quality. We ordered „fresh“ fried fish from the lake, what we got was a tasteless and bland mix of badly fried bycatch (very small fish) and waste „filets“ which we could not identify as actual fish. The only taste we noticed was of old frying oil.

The primi piatti risotto was ok, but the rice also tasted rather bland. Interestingly, the fried filets that came with the risotto looked and tasted very different (better?) than the fried fish from above, but still not better than what I would get from the frozen section at any supermarket. The alcohol-free cocktail was a bad mix of multivitamin juice and water. Lastly, the house wine was average at best.

The service was also not to our expectations for such a higher end priced restaurant. After we notified the waiter about the food, we did not get any response but only „thats fish from the lake“.

I visited this place a year ago, and had a good experience. Today, I brought my husband for our anniversary. Staff is not attentive, and in general they have not enough ppl. We were waiting for our food to long, drinking wine for 45 mins before main dish. We montioned to our tender that appetizers are not good, and it's to long already. By the time food arrived, we were very hungry, and even asked what else we can order that it will be cooked fast. Anyway, the point, the service became bad. Like veeeeery bad. However their cook still good. Everything else doesn't worst going there. Usually, I don't give bad reviews (everything could happend), but this time I even spoke to their manager. Honestly, I observed other people waiting for food. We had quite a high bill, for limited/seasonal menu plus appetizers and drinks. Very sad....especially it was our anniversary I don't think I will ever return back here....
